Latvia Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Grants to civil society organizations in Latvia for projects of development cooperation in partner countries

Principal Office: Latvia

Latvia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the responsible institution for the country’s official development assistance. Like the other Baltic countries, Latvia is a relatively new provider of development aid, and its development budget is modest. Most of Latvia’s contribution is allocated for multilateral assistance.

Latvia’s small bilateral program focuses on reforms in public administration, promoting democratic governments, and improving educational systems. Some of its projects include aspects of rural and agricultural development, energy, and environment.

Eurasia and Central Asia: Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan

Eastern Europe and Russia: Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine
