Tools with a Mission (TWAM) is a faith-based charity in the UK that collects and ships tools and equipment for distribution to NGOs working in Sub-Saharan Africa. TWAM provides hand tools, computers, bikes, and school books and supplies.
Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources
Donated tools and equipment. TWAM employs volunteers in the UK to collect, repair, sort, and ship tools and equipment in suitable working condition to support local livelihoods in Africa. The tools are grouped into kits for purposes such as agriculture, building, carpentry, gardening, masonry, mechanics, plumbing, and other applied needs.
TWAM also distributes computers, printers, and related IT equipment; sewing and knitting equipment; school books and school supplies; and bicycles.
APPLICATION: TWAM accepts applications from registered charitable NGOs working in Africa or based in Africa that meet the requirements and ethos of TWAM.
TWAM publishes lists of tools and equipment by categories. Applicants identity their organization; make a request for specific tools/equipment; and explain how the shipping and freight charges will be paid. (Note: TWAM does not charge for tools, but it asks recipients to contribute to the cost of shipping.)
Applications are sent to the respective TWAM coordinator in each eligible country: Dem Rep Congo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
