Commonwealth Scholarship Commission — Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships

The Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at students from low- and middle-income countries who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. Awards are tenable for 12 months of study at any approved UK university or higher education institution for a specific program of research. All applications must be submitted by 16 December 2024. Climate Investment Funds — Youth Fellowship

The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) supports young climate professionals with a career-focused fellowship program. The CIF Youth Fellowship is a professional capacity-building program focused on providing hands-on experience to young leaders in global climate action. CIF Youth Fellows will work with Multilateral Development Banks on real-world projects in areas related to nature-based solutions, clean energy, adaptation and climate resilience, energy access, and gender and social inclusion. Candidates must be between 18 and 28 years old and reside in Brazil, Ghana, India, Papua New Guinea, or Turkey. The application deadline is 18 December 2024. CIF Youth Fellowship

U.S. Department of State — TechWomen 2025

TechWomen offers professional mentorship and exchange to emerging women leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics from the developing world. The program is open to qualified women with a minimum of 2 years of full-time professional experience in the STEM fields. Applicants must be citizens of Albania, Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan or Zimbabwe. Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs — Research Collaboration 2025

Within the framework of Danish development cooperation, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls for research proposals between Denmark and researchers in partner countries. In 2025, the following countries are eligible for research applications: Algeria, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Palestine, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia (incl. Somaliland), South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Vietnam. Eligible research themes include climate change and the environment. The expected duration of research projects is up to 5 years with a maximum grant of DKK 10 million for each project. Only universities or research-based institutions registered in Denmark and with the capacity to (co-)supervise Ph.D. students are eligible to submit an application. Climate & Care Initiative — Climate Fund

The Climate & Care Initiative seeks innovative practices that connect climate and care to promote equitable and sustainable development and a just transition. The fund supports those at the forefront of climate and care work to help organizations and initiatives develop evidence on the importance of integrating these critical areas. The Climate & Care Initiative provides up to US$50 thousand per project for innovative practices in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Sub-Saharan Africa. U.S. African Development Foundation — Off-Grid Energy Challenge

The U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF) requests proposals for the USADF Off-Grid Energy Challenge. Selected African off-grid energy companies will receive funding in the form of grant capital of up to US$250 thousand. Association of Commonwealth Universities — Climate Resilience Challenge Grants

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) awards Climate Resilience Challenge Grants to member universities to support initiatives addressing climate resilience. The grants can be used for a diverse range of projects, workshops, and events. Four grants of up to £2,500 each are available for ACU member universities to help meet the costs of organizing climate resilience projects. EnDev — Renewable Energy Uganda

EnDev offers Business Development Services support through targeted mentorship, training, and coaching in thematic areas that promote key business processes and operations to interested enterprises in the solar and cooking sectors in Uganda. The target is to support selected solar and cooking enterprises to grow their business and the renewable energy subsector in general. Mastercard Foundation Fund — Agribusiness Challenge Fund

The Mastercard Foundation Fund calls for proposals for the Agribusiness Challenge Fund aimed at African enterprises in the agriculture sector to create work opportunities at scale. Selected businesses will receive grants ranging from US$ 500 thousand to US$ 2.5 million disbursed over a 3-year period. The Fund targets African agri-businesses in Sub-Saharan African countries. Acumen — West Africa Fellowship

The Acumen Fellows Program supports social innovators from West Africa who are tackling issues of poverty and injustice within their community. The Fellowship consists of a fully-funded leadership program, where Fellows remain in their role while taking part in a series of immersive seminars, workshops, and group practice. Past fellows have included several in smallholder agriculture, renewable energy, waste management, fair trade, and other subject areas. Applications have to be received by 25 November 2024.
