The aim of this call is to reduce poverty and vulnerability in developing countries by promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls. Action areas under this call include one on ‘Environment and Climate Action’. The total amount of funding available under this call is up to CA$36 million over five years. European Commission — Agribusiness Support Zambia
The European Commission seeks to reduce rural poverty and malnutrition and to improve rural livelihoods in Zambia. Projects under this call should focus on (1) Increasing investments in agriculture (including fish farming), (2) Facilitating the creation and strengthening of smallholder farmer and agribusiness associations, and (3) Generating employment opportunities, in particular for women and youth. The overall amount made available under this call is €26 million. In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must an established organization in a Member State of the European Union or Zambia. Nordic Climate Facility — Testing the Business Viability of Climate Solutions
The Nordic Climate Facility accepts applications for the current call for proposals on the theme of “Testing the Business Viability of Climate Solutions”. Projects should be implemented through partnerships between relevant Nordic institutions and qualified local partners in eligible low-income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Latin America (full list in the announcement). World Bank — Developing an Agricultural Risk Financing Tool for Southern Africa
The Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and partners seek innovators to design a tool that can support public finance decisions based on an integrated approach for the management of agriculture sector risks. The tool should help to prioritize investments in resilience and preparedness to reduce agriculture losses, poverty and food insecurity. Climate Chance opens the call for proposals for the Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019.
