Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey — Research Fellowships 2018

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) awards research fellowships to international highly qualified PhD students and young postdoctoral researchers. Applicants should be non-Turkish citizens who are age 35 or younger. Preference is for candidates who have the potential to contribute to Turkey’s international cooperation in scientific and technological development. India Department of Science and Technology — Technological Innovation Fund

The Department of Science and Technology (India) and the National Technological Innovation Authority (Israel) announce the 1st India-Israel Technological Innovation Fund. The objective of this programme is to respond to the global issues concerning science & technology for the water, energy and agricultural sector while developing technologies that can be commercialized and localized within 2 years. International Institute of Education — Indigenous Biocultural Exchange Fund

The Indigenous Biocultural Exchange Fund provides up to US$5 thousand to indigenous individuals to attend global biocultural exchanges or meetings which impact the applicant’s home territory or region. Applicants must be indigenous or members of a local indigenous community. Additional preference will be given to women and youth. The fund is especially for, but not limited to, indigenous individuals in the following regions: African Rift Valley, Central Asia & Turkey, Southwest U.S. & Northern Mexico, Northern Australia, and Melanesia. The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) invites applications from former RUFORUM-Carnegie supported doctoral alumni for a 2 year post-doctoral fellowships to be based at a university in Africa. Applications from candidates who have submitted their theses for external examination will also be considered. The maximum award for this call is US$60 thousand per fellowship. French Institute for Development Research — Creation of International Laboratories

The French Institute for Development Research (IRD) calls for projects for the creation of international mixed laboratories (LMI) with the aim to strengthen the international influence of higher education and research centers in developing countries. Proposals should be co-built and co-led by teams from one or more research institutions in the developing world, and supervised by an IRD member. Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women

The IUSSTF invites Indian Women Scientists, Engineers & Technologists to apply for the “Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women in STEMM” to undertake international collaborative research in the USA. Proposed thematic areas of work include agricultural sciences, life sciences and seven others. Eligibility extends to Indian women (aged 21-35 years) currently pursuing Ph.D. degree. International Development Research Center — Food Security in Africa

Canada’s IDRC calls for research projects with the potential to generate high impact and innovative results for improved food security in Africa. The research should focus on improved productivity and incomes for farmers; gender equity; nutrition and human health; and climate change and sustainable water management. Eligibility to participate extends to NGOs, universities, and government departments with legal corporate registration in Burundi; Ethiopia; Kenya; Malawi; Mozambique; Rwanda; Tanzania; Uganda; Zambia; and Zimbabwe. Misk Foundation — Misk Grand Challenges (1st application window)

The Misk Foundations seeks innovative ways to positively engage young people (under the age of 30) in Global Citizenship. Participants are invited to propose innovative and creative solutions that uses new knowledge to positively engage young people in efforts that will reduce inequality related to six Global Goals: (1) No poverty; (2) Zero hunger; (3) Good health and well-being; (4) Quality education; (5) Gender equality; and (6) Clean water and sanitation. Israeli Agency for International Development — Course: Intensive Crop Production

Israel’s Agency for International Development (MASHAV) offers professional short courses in Israel in subject areas that include agriculture, energy, health, education, and social development. MASHAV offers a limited number of scholarships to cover course fees, accommodation, medical insurance, and other expenses in Israel. The international course on “Irrigation and Fertigation for Intensive Crop Production” will focus on applied irrigation and fertigation technologies, management of water resources, and fertilizers and nutrient solutions. The course is geared towards professionals from governmental and non-governmental institutions, universities, research institutes and/or private sector involved in agricultural development projects under irrigation as well as in research, extension and/or intensive agricultural production.
