Enel Green Power (EGP) seeks to improve the environmental sustainability and biodiversity preservation of its renewable installations. In particular, EGP is looking for artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to be applied during the construction phase of renewable power plants to detect selected tree or other vegetation species that may be of particular importance for the local biodiversity equilibrium. University of California at Berkeley — Food and Farming Journalism Fellowship
The UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism offers ten US$10 thousand postgraduate Food and Farming Journalism Fellowships. The fellowship is aimed at early and mid-career journalists who cover print and audio stories under the rubric of food systems: agricultural policy, food science, rural and urban farming, agriculture and the environment, food and climate change, etc. Preference is given to U.S. focused stories, but UC Berkeley will also consider international stories with a strong U.S. angle or connection. German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety — Funding for Low-Carbon Development
The NAMA Facility Ambition Initiative supports countries who plan to increase their emissions reduction plans and gear toward a carbon-neutral economy. The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) provides funding and invites project applications for a combination of technical assistance and climate finance, to enable partner countries to implement their enhanced NDCs. Truepic — Social Impact Grant 2022
Truepic is the leading photo and video verification platform. Truepic Vision helps organizations use authenticated images and videos to achieve their goals and aid their projects. Truepic announces the request for applications for the social impact grant program 2022. Truepic seeks partners that have a real understanding of how to use imagery to accelerate a mission and positively impact their community or the world. Selected organizations receive a minimum of one year of pro-bono development, use, support, and training of Truepic Vision’s premium platform where they will be able to request and crowdsource authenticated images and videos from any smartphone in the world. Accelerate2030 supports entrepreneurs from developing and emerging markets to scale their solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Accelerate2030 is a Scale Readiness Program that provides support based on specific needs, such as access to experts, mentors, and partners. While Accelerate2030 supports solutions to any SDGs, the program is particularly looking for solutions related to the Circular Economy, access to Good Health and Wellbeing and Clean Water. Eppley Foundation — Research in Biological and Physical Sciences
The Eppley Foundation for Research funds projects in medicine, life sciences, and the physical sciences. Areas of interest include innovative medical investigations and applications; endangered animals and ecosystems; and climate change. Applicants for grants must be associated with recognized nonprofit educational or research institutions in the US. Grants may be awarded for research internationally when applicants are based in the USA or are associated with U.S. institutions that will administer the grants. Most grants are under US$25 thousand. Children’s Climate Foundation — Children’s Climate Prize
The Children’s Climate Prize invites innovative and groundbreaking ideas and solutions on the issue of climate change. The prize is awarded to children aged 12-17 who have made extraordinary efforts for the climate and environment. The winners will be invited to Sweden and receive prize money of SEK 100 thousand to continue to develop their projects. Foundation Beyond Belief — Compassionate Impact Grant
Foundation Beyond Belief (FBB) makes grants to organizations that address critical community problems through evidence-based and culturally responsible social innovations. FBB will make one grant in the amount of US$30 thousand to one organization with the goal of increasing that organization’s ability to fulfill its mission. All applicants must be non-profit organizations with 501(c)3 status but grants are often used to support international community projects. Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance — Ocean Resilience Innovation Challenge
The Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA) seeks new finance and insurance innovations that build coastal resilience to ocean-derived risks. Organizations, local civil society, international NGOs and academia are invited to submit finance and insurance products that drive investment in coastal natural capital and increase resilience. Proposed projects must reduce ocean risk for the most vulnerable and protect biodiversity. Selected projects will receive customized support and benefit from tailored mentoring. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants on Green Recovery
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to support the production of in-depth or investigative stories that will highlight progress toward a post-pandemic “green recovery”. EJN welcomes stories that engage audiences to better understand the commitments (or lack thereof) from governments, administrations, corporations and other authorities to progress towards a green, sustainable future. EJN expects to award 10 grants with an average grant of £1,100. Applications are open to journalists and other expert media practitioners with experience in investigative reporting and covering environment and/or issues related to climate.
