MDPI — Water PhD Thesis Award 2021

MDPI, a publisher of peer-reviewed, open access journals, invites applications for the Water 2021 Best PhD Thesis Award. This prize will be awarded to a PhD student who is about to graduate or defend their graduation thesis. The award consists of CHF800 and a free publication in MDPI Water before the end of 2022. Applicants must be postdoctoral researchers or Ph.D. students working in the field of water or related areas. Applications have to be submitted by 10 November 2021. Details

Climate Tracker — Solutions Reporting Fellowship

Climate Tracker seeks early-career journalists with a passion for a 6-month paid media mentorship-fellowship. Selected fellows will write and publish powerful sustainability stories focused on local solutions in their country/region, and receive coaching and mentoring from experts to gain hands-on experience in reporting on climate change and sustainability issues. World Academy of Sciences — Program for Exchanges and Collaborations

TWAS invites scientists from least developed countries to carry out collaborative research projects. Scientists have the opportunity to visit research laboratories in Trieste (Italy) to carry out research work in genetic engineering and biotechnology. European Commission – ERC Advanced Research Grants

ERC Advanced Grants support ambitious research projects with up to €2,5 million for the duration of 5 years. Up to an additional €1 million can be requested in exceptional cases to cover (a) eligible “start-up” costs, (b) the purchase of major equipment, (c) access to large facilities, and/or (d) other major experimental and field work costs. The call is open to researchers of any nationality who intend to conduct their research activity in any EU member state. Florence School of Regulation — Scholarship for Women in Energy

The Florence School of Regulation (FSR) supports eight women around the globe working in energy. The Lights on Women Scholarship provides scholarships to women contributing to innovative solutions, research, and initiatives that accelerate a sustainable, resilient, and just energy transition. International Secretariat for Water — Global Youth Take Action

Global Youth Take Action invites projects with the objective to support the implementation of youth-led initiatives related to sustainable water resources management and climate change adaptation. The call for projects aims to support initiatives regarding water & health, water & agriculture, water-related risks, and water sharing working towards Sustainable Development Goals. Selected projects will receive financial support up to CA$5 thousand each and technical support. The project must be led and implemented by youth aged between 18 and 35. Projects from low- and middle-income countries, projects targeting indigenous communities, projects led by young women and projects targeting women will be prioritized. Global Energy Show Awards – Nominations

The Global Energy Show Awards recognize leaders and innovators in the energy industry. Awards include the Emerging Clean Technologies Award for technologies that improve environmental performance or decrease cost of production through environmental protection activities; and the Suzanne West Environmental Excellence Award to recognize initiatives that have minimized or eliminated the environmental footprint of the oil and gas industry; among other awards. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites nominations for the Pathfinder Award. The Award recognizes outstanding and innovative solutions for protected and conserved areas from around the world. Nominations are invited from individuals and organizations. Eco Agrifood Challenge — Startup Contest

The Eco Agrifood Challenge seeks to identify and boost innovative startups and SMEs developing innovative solutions in favor of sustainable agriculture. Startups have the chance to win up to €5 thousand in cash and gain free access to the ToasterLAB agrifood acceleration program.
