The Yunus&Youth Fellowship Program is a six-month online program for young social entrepreneurs from all around the world. The program is designed for young early-stage social business leaders that have the potential to solve community-based problems with focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will be matched with a mentor, participate in expert webinars with business professionals and receive help with business plan development. In the final stage of the program, fellows will present their social businesses to a team of real investors to shape their presentation skills and test their pitch decks. Microsoft — AI for Earth Grants
Microsoft seeks proposals from around the world that focus on the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to better monitor and manage Earth’s natural systems for a more sustainable future. Funding supports the creation and deployment of open source trained models and algorithms in the focus core areas of climate change, biodiversity, agriculture, and water. The grant provides software developers with Azure compute credits worth up to US$15 thousand. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. Copernicus Masters — ESA Digital Twin Earth Challenge
Copernicus Masters is an international innovation competition that honors the best solutions using earth observation data and applications to solve global challenges. The ESA Digital Twin Earth (DTE) Challenge, sponsored by the European Space Agency, seeks solutions which combine Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data to provide forecasting on the impact of climate change and responding to societal challenges. The winner of the climate challenge receives €10 thousand. All participants have the chance to win an additional €10 thousand if chosen as the overall Copernicus winner. Copernicus Masters is an international innovation competition that honors the best solutions using earth observation data and applications to solve global challenges. The Planet Challenge, sponsored by Planet, seeks new ways to help solve climate and environmental challenges through the use of daily satellite imagery, tools and analytics. The winner receives free Planet data for non-commercial purposes, consulting and a trip to San Francisco to Planet’s Explore Conference. European Commission — Adapting Water Quality Management to a New Climate
The European Commission invites applications for early stage researcher PhD studentships on the Marie Skłodowska-Curie action (MSCA) European Training Network inventWater (Inventive forecasting tools for adapting water quality management to a new climate) program. The program offers a full time employment contract for 36 months (with the possibility to extend to 48 months) at a competitive salary. A total of 15 PhD positions at 10 different institutions across eight European countries are available. Applicants should be in the first four years of their research careers and not yet have been awarded a doctorate. The initial deadline for applications is 22 April 2021. Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship — Climate Resilience Asia Pacific Accelerator
The Miller Center seeks applications for an online accelerator program focused on innovations that address the poor, who are suffering disproportionately from climate change in the areas of: affordable and reliable access to modern energy, sustainable management of water and sanitation, and climate-smart agriculture. The program does not provide financial assistance but offers mentorship and capacity building. It is designed for established social entrepreneurs that directly serve people living in poverty. Non-profit, for-profit, or hybrid social enterprises that have a clear commitment to an earned revenue model with the potential for scale are all encouraged to apply. Student Energy — Greenpreneurs
Greenpreneurs supports young people to foster a generation of climate and development leaders that work collaboratively to implement green solutions. The program features virtual webinars, mentorship and weekly tasks supplemented with online resources. The top three participating teams will win US$5 thousand per team in seed funding to get their initiative started. United Nations — Human Rights to Water and Sanitation
The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation invites submissions to the 4th Human Rights Youth Challenge. Youth aged between 16 -24 are asked to produce a video (2-5 minutes) on climate change and human rights to water and sanitation. Videos can be submitted in any language with subtitles in English, French, or Spanish. The winner will be invited to join the UN Special Rapporteur to speak at a side-event to the Human Rights Council in September 2021. The submission period ends on 31 May 2021. Link to more details
Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange — Scientific Exchanges with Poland
The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) accepts applications for the Ulam Programme. The Program allows exchange visits (6-24 months) of scientists from all around the world to Poland in order to strengthen the scientific potential of Polish entities and increase scientific internationalization in all fields of science. Because International — Social Innovation Competition
Because International seeks applications for its Pursuit Incubator Program.
