Australia Department of Education and Training — Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships 2019

The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are Australia’s program for citizens of the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe, and the Americas for education, research, and professional development in Australia. Applicants for the Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are required to make their own approaches to host universities in Australia. Belgium’s University Commission for Development — Student Micro-Projects 2019

The student micro-project program offers students in the Wallonia region of Belgium the opportunity to set up a project in partnership with students from a developing country. Topic areas may include water resources, female empowerment, and several others. The ARES program offers financial support of up to € 15 thousand per micro-project. Belgium’s University Commission for Development — Student Outreach Projects 2019

The student outreach program offers students in the Wallonia region of Belgium the opportunity to raise awareness and organize activities related to development aid issues. The ARES program offers financial support between € 1,500 – 4,500 per outreach project. Past projects include the organization of an ‘awareness day around the theme of agribusiness’ and a ‘sensitization day for graduates on socio-environmental conflicts and management of natural resources in Peru’. Research Council of Norway — Arctic Field Research

The Svalbard Science Forum (SSF) promotes research activities in Svalbard and administrates funding programs to stimulate data collection and inter-disciplinary as well as international cooperation. Students and researchers can apply for arctic field grants and seed money for workshops and collaborative activities. Both Norwegian and foreign students and scientists are eligible to apply, the latter only if the project is done in close cooperation with a Norwegian institution. The deadline is 10 October 2018. Global Social Venture Competition — Competition 2019

The Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) is a partnership of business schools in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with mentoring, exposure, and funding to support their social ventures. Past winners include plans for water supply, energy, micro-credit, agricultural technology, ecological building materials, and other environmental themes. The GSVC will award cash prizes up to US$40 thousand. The deadline for the first entry round in all regions is 03 December 2018. Find the competition

Blue Earth Alliance — Photography Projects

Blue Earth sponsors photography projects that educate the public about threatened cultures, endangered environments, and other social concerns. Blue Earth provides assistance with fundraising, publishing, and publicity. However, it does not make direct grants to sponsored projects. The next deadline for proposals is 20 January 2019. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium — Conservation Grants 2018

The Columbus Zoo makes conservation grants for research, local community involvement, capacity building, environmental education, and behavior change leading to improved conservation of wildlife and habitat. Grant requests may range from US$1 thousand to US$25 thousand, but grants are limited to US$5 thousand for first-time applicants. First-time applicants must submit a pre-proposal. KR Foundation — Reducing Fossil Fuels

The KR Foundation makes grants for environmental communications and advocacy, with a special focus on reducing investment and consumption of fossil fuels. The Foundation aims to address root causes of climate change and environmental degradation, and safeguard the planetary boundaries. Grants are to charitable nonprofit organizations. The amount of funding per project typically ranges from DKK 2-5 million for projects of up to approx. 3 years. The next deadline for letters of inquiry is 09 January 2019. Interdisciplinary Centre for Conservation Science — Biodiversity Fellows Programme

The ICCS Biodiversity Fellows Programme offers participants the chance to spend up to three months at the University of Oxford, writing papers, developing ideas or writing grant proposals. ICCS will cover expenses related to travel, accommodation and training events for the duration of the programme. The Fellowships are for people working for NGOs, government institutions, or in the business environment. Applications from developing country nationals are particularly welcome. Wellcome Trust — Climate Change and Human Health

The Wellcome Trust seeks applications from researchers who want to explore the links between human health and the changing climate. Specific research themes are (1) Developing tools to support research into climate change and health; (2) Assessing the health co-benefits of actions to mitigate climate change; and (3) Assessing the health impacts of actions to adapt to climate change. Funding of up to £500 thousand is available for three years of research. The awards are open to individuals or teams of up to ten members from anywhere in the world.
