BMCE Bank of Africa — African Entrepreneurship Award 2018

The African Entrepreneurship Award is a business competition inviting young African entrepreneurs to submit their entrepreneurial ideas in two categories, one of which is “Innovation” for projects and business ideas that aim to solve pressing issues in Africa. This refers to business proposals that innovate to create jobs and improve lives addressing problems in areas such as food security, water access, sustainable energy, deforestation,and others. Submissions are invited from for-profit businesses managed by Africans who are at least 18 years old. The competition winners will share US$1 million. The closing date is 30 April 2018. European Commission – Food Security in Honduras

The Food and Nutrition Technical Unit (UTSAN) calls for projects that aim to improve the food and nutritional security of rural households in Honduras. Proposed projects must focus on training/capacity building of Indigenous and local leaders in SAN and resilience in the Dry Corridor of West Honduras. Grants requested under this call must be between €400 and €500 thousand for projects of up to 20 months. Eligibility extends to non-profit NGOs, universities and/or research centers established in the Republic of Honduras or in a Member State of the European Union. Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey — Research Fellowships 2018

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) awards research fellowships to international highly qualified PhD students and young postdoctoral researchers. Applicants should be non-Turkish citizens who are age 35 or younger. Preference is for candidates who have the potential to contribute to Turkey’s international cooperation in scientific and technological development. The Department of Science and Technology (India) and the National Technological Innovation Authority (Israel) announce the 1st India-Israel Technological Innovation Fund. The objective of this programme is to respond to the global issues concerning science & technology for the water, energy and agricultural sector while developing technologies that can be commercialized and localized within 2 years. Israeli Agency for International Development — Course: Environmental Management of Nature Parks and Reserves

Israel’s Agency for International Development (MASHAV) offers professional short courses in Israel in subject areas that include agriculture, energy, environment, education, and social development. MASHAV offers a limited number of scholarships to cover course fees, accommodation, medical insurance, and other expenses in Israel. The international course on “Environmental Management of Nature Parks and Reserves” will focus on ecosystem services. This training program is intended for mid-level professionals involved in nature preservation, working for government, non-governmental organizations, decision-making bodies, academia and the private sector. The National Geographic Society seeks proposals addressing environmental issues by communicating science. The NGS seeks proposals from around the world that advance the science of nature communication by systematically testing visual communication and education methods. The call is intended for visual artists, photographers, and videographers who aim to more effectively create and use images or video to overcome apathy towards species and ecosystems. National Geographic Society — Democratizing Science

The National Geographic Society seeks proposals from around the world that will engage learners and avocational researchers in citizen science activities to address real world problems, and lead to actions in science and conservation. Proposed projects should explore how digital tools like cameras, drones, live streaming services, and digital imagery might be transformed into group actions.
