Association of Southeast Asian Nations — ASEAN Prize 2023

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) invites nominations for the ASEAN Prize 2023. The prize acknowledges ASEAN citizens or ASEAN-based organizations that have made outstanding contributions to ASEAN’s community building efforts. One Young World — The Pacific Scholarships to Participate in the One Young World Summit 2023

The One Young World Summit brings together young talents (ages 18-30) from many nationalities to share solutions addressing the world’s pressing issues. One Young World offers the Leading The Pacific Scholarship to ensure that the most qualified young leaders participate in the Summit, regardless of their ability to pay. Selected participants receive a fully-funded scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit in Belfast, UK (October 2023). The application deadline is 30 April 2023. U.S. Agency for International Development — Climate Action Partnership for Education

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks opportunities to co-create, and collaborate in the research, testing and scaling of innovative solutions that will advance climate action with a focus on girls’ education. USAID invites organizations, companies, community-based enterprises, academic and research institutions, and government agencies to propose novel or creative approaches. USAID anticipates making one to three awards totaling between US$4 to 5 million over two to three years. USAID seeks solutions that are relevant to sub-Saharan Africa and/or Southeast Asia. OPEC Fund for International Development — Young Professional Development Program

The Young Professional Development Program (YPDP) is a two-year program designed to prepare young professionals from OPEC Fund member countries for a career in global development. The themes include poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development, environment, and other related science and technology fields. YPDP offers training, coaching and mentoring, the opportunity to experience different departments and access to professional networks. To be selected for the program, applicants must be 30 years of age (or younger) and hold a Master’s degree. The deadline for applications is 24 March 2023. More about the YPDP

U.S. Mission to Indonesia — Summit for Young Leaders in Southeast Asia

The U.S. Mission to Indonesia seeks a local partner to organize and host the annual Indonesia Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Summit 2023. The award recipient will be responsible for planning, organizing, and administering the youth-focused summit to take place in-person in Jakarta or Bali, in December 2023. Funding of up to US$750 thousand is available. Eligible Applicants are U.S.-based, Indonesia-based, and foreign non-profit organizations or institutions of higher education. Asian Forest Cooperation Organization — Landmark Scholarship Program

The Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) calls for applications for the “2023-2024 Landmark Scholarship Program”. AFoCO will select one candidate for doctoral degree course and three candidates for a master’s degree course. Applicants must be citizens of ASEAN Member Countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam. Australian Government — Direct Aid Program: Pacific

The Australian Government supports small-scale sustainable development projects and activities in the fields of agriculture; water and sanitation; and others. The Direct Aid Program will support activities for sustainable community development in Micronesia, Palau, and the Marshall Islands. The maximum funding limit is US$20 per project for 12 months. U.S. Government — Advancing Environmental Journalism in the Southeast Asia Region

The U.S. Government announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for projects that advance environmental journalism in Southeast Asia. Projects may have a duration of up to 48 months and should have an impact that leads to reforms. Applicants can request grants between US$740 thousand and US$1.4 million. Eligibility extends to U.S.- or foreign-based non-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, and business. Applications are due 03 April 2023. Details

IMMANA — Career Development Fellowships

Innovative Methods and Metrics for Agriculture and Nutrition Actions (IMMANA) is a research initiative with the aim to stimulate the development of innovative methodological approaches in agriculture and food systems for improved health and nutrition. IMMANA awards post-doctoral fellowships to emerging leaders who are applying and/or validating new methodological approaches in ongoing research programs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The fellowship includes a research stipend, a travel allowance, and an honorarium for mentors. Fellows conduct their research in Africa or Asia under the joint supervision of two mentors. Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation Indonesia (Small Grants)

Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) makes small grants in support of biodiversity conservation in Indonesia with focus on the “Wallacea Biodiversity Hotspot.” Grants are in support of community-based sustainable small-scale fisheries, protection and conservation of endangered marine species, marine protected areas management, and activities that promote improved marine and coastal ecosystems. This call is for small grants of less than US$50 thousand. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs, community groups, private enterprises, universities, and other civil society applicants.
