The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites applications for the Ending Plastic Pollution Innovation Challenge (EPPIC). EPPIC targets the Mandalika Special Economic Zone, Lombok Island in Indonesia, and Samal Island in the Philippines. UNDP will select 10 to 15 finalists to participate in a 3-month solution incubation program; 2 to 4 finalists will be selected as winners and receive up to US$18 thousand each. The Asian Elephant Conservation Fund invites project proposals for the conservation of the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus). Grants are for activities in elephant conservation, protection of habitat, prevention of poaching, and other activities in elephant conservation. Grants range from US$50 thousand to US$500 thousand for projects at priority sites within the range of the Asian elephant, but proposals outside of range are welcome when shows a clear relevance to the Asian elephant conservation. Eligibility for funding extends to qualified individuals; multi-national secretariats; state and local government agencies; nonprofit, non-governmental organizations; for-profit organizations; public and private institutions of higher education, and foreign entities. Climate Tracker — Media Research on Coverage of Plastics in Southeast Asia
Climate Tracker seeks emerging journalists and researchers from across Southeast Asia for an online research training fellowship. Research will focus on developing a clearer regional media coverage map and creating brand awareness for the Break Free from Plastic campaign. Fellows will build their relationship with the media in the region, participate in 4 weeks of online training and analyze the coverage of up to 5 publications in their respective country. Global Biodiversity Information Facility — Biodiversity Information for Development: Asia
The Biodiversity Information for Development program aims to enhance capacity for effective mobilization and use of biodiversity data in support of decision- and policymaking for sustainable development in Asia. The program supports projects that strengthen the capacity of institutions to manage and mobilize biodiversity data, mobilize primary data on Asian biodiversity, and increase open data on Asian biodiversity to fill taxonomic and geographic gaps. Applicants may request a maximum of €20 thousand for projects implemented over a maximum period of 18 months. SEED supports small-scale eco-enterprises in the developing world which integrate social and environmental benefits into their business models. Applicants should be able to explain how the enterprise will be financially viable in the long term and be in the set-up phase and in the early stages of implementation. The ASEAN Women Impact Social Entrepreneurship (WISE) Fellowship supports changemakers and social enterprises with focus on women and indigenous communities. Angels of Impact seeks medium-sized, women or indigenous-led, community-based social enterprises that work to end poverty via the creative economy sector. Selected fellows have access to capacity-building workshops, market access and funding opportunities.
