The Toilet Board Coalition’s Accelerator is a 12-month virtual program designed to support sanitation businesses in emerging markets across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The Climate Mitigation Prize seeks startups developing technologies or business models to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat the root causes of climate change. The Climate Adaptation Prize is for startups developing solutions that help communities and ecosystems adapt to the impacts of climate change. Participants receive customized expert support to refine their business models and access to investors. Village Capital — Greentech Asia
Village Capital launches an investment readiness program that supports startups with innovative solutions to accelerate sustainable development. The program currently accepts startups from Malaysia and Vietnam, addressing underestimated communities in the region. The program will run for twelve weeks. Auckland Zoo — Small Grants Program
The Auckland Zoo’s Conservation Fund provides funding for ongoing projects or pilot programs with clear conservation value. The current round of funding will concentrate on innovative projects in New Zealand and the Pacific that have direct conservation benefits to coastal flora and fauna. Grants are up to a maximum of NZD$10 thousand, but most grants are smaller. The application must represent a minimum of 25% of the project’s overall budget. Applications close on 13 May 2025. Toyota Foundation — International Grant Program for East and Southeast Asia
The Toyota Foundation supports projects focusing on challenges and issues shared among Japan and other Asian countries. The grant program invites applications in the fields of mutual learning and knowledge-sharing among East and Southeast Asia. The Foundation has previously funded projects in the fields of sustainable energy, agriculture, and water resources. The maximum grant amount per project ranges from US$44 thousand to US$89 thousand. Pacific Development and Conservation Trust — Community Projects in the Pacific Islands
New Zealand’s Pacific Development and Conservation Trust makes grants for conservation, cultural heritage, development, and goodwill in the Pacific Islands. The priority is community projects, including conservation projects that involve representative, endangered, threatened, or unique habitats and species. Eligibility for grants extends to citizens of New Zealand and eligible Pacific countries and territories. Most past grants range from NZ$2 thousand to NZ$50 thousand. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Asia-Pacific Islands
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects), as well as environment, climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management. The Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) supports scientists of Asian nationality who are conducting water research. Research topics include technologies for water/wastewater treatment, water quality analysis, sustainability of water environment sanitation, water ecosystem, and agricultural water use – among other themes. Tokyo University of Agriculture — Scholarship for Dissertation Doctorate Program
The Dissertation Doctorate Program for Agriculture and Natural Resources aims to contribute to the enhancement of agricultural research and development in Southeast Asia. The scholarship provides one slot annually for a three-year graduate program leading to a Dissertation Doctorate at Tokyo NODAI. The scholarship is open only to nationals of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam.
