UNESCO — Capacity Building Program for World Heritage Professionals in the Arab Region

UNESCO ARC-WH invites applications for a capacity building programme for World Heritage professionals in the Arab Region. The pilot workshop aims at building a strong network of experts and will be held from 9 – 13 December 2018 in Bahrain. Participants must have at least 5 years experience working in the field of Cultural and/or Natural Heritage. The costs of the participants is covered by the ARC-WH. World Academy of Sciences — Postgraduate Fellowships in Natural Sciences in Pakistan

The TWAS-CIIT Fellowship Programme offers fellowships to young scientists from developing countries who wish to obtain all or part of their PhD in natural sciences. CIIT will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs such as food, accommodation, and health insurance. Applicants should not be older than 35 years and hold an MSc degree in a field of natural sciences. The deadline for applications is 31 August 2018. Link

APEC Climate Center — Climate Change Training Program

The APEC Climate Center (APCC) accepts applications for a training program with the subject of user-oriented statistical downscaling of climate change scenarios for agriculture and water resources to be held in Korea (15-20 October 2018).  The 1-week training program aims to provide information and technical support for better regional planning and reduction of economic losses caused by adverse climate conditions. Scientists and working level staff from national research institutes in agriculture and/or water-related fields in developing countries, preferably APEC economies, are invited to apply. International Finance Corporation — Contest for Youth Engagement in Energy, Water & Transport

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and International Youth Foundation (IYF) invite applications for a contest for Youth Engagement in Energy, Water & Transport. The contest aims to inspire and create a dialogue on innovative ways to engage young people in natural resource industries while addressing some of the problems and needs of communities and companies. Youth between the ages of 15 and 30 are invited to submit content around core themes of energy, water, and transport. The competition is open to nationals of all countries. Earth Journalism Network — Bay of Bengal Story Grants

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers Story Grants to support the production of in-depth stories on climate and environmental change in the Bay of Bengal region. Particular attention should be given to the adaptation needs, challenges, efforts and success stories of vulnerable and marginalized communities, women and youth. Eligibility extends to professional journalists and other expert media practitioners. Most grants will range from US$1 thousand to US$2 thousand. The application deadline is 13 August 2018. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Climate-smart Aquaculture

IFAD seeks proposals for grants to implement a project on “Advancing Technologies and Capacity Building for Climate-smart Aquaculture”. The IFAD will support adaptive research, technology transfer and piloting climate smart aquaculture technologies worldwide. Capacity building in technologies for national aquaculture research will be supported in the targeted countries Eritrea, Ethiopia and Egypt. The IFAD grant amount under this call is up to US$1 million. The recipient of this grant can be an inter-governmental organization, a non-profit organization, an university or a private sector entity. Hindustan Unilever Foundation — India’s Water Footprint in Agriculture

The Hindustan Unilever Foundation (HUF) supports projects that offer solutions for highly efficient use of water in agriculture. The idea is to transform India’s water footprint in agriculture from a highly inefficient state to a more sustainable one. Interested organisations are encouraged to apply for long term projects (over 4 – 5 years), that can be initially incubated for 18-24-months. Organic Farming Research Foundation — Research Grants 2019

OFRF offers funding for research on organic farming and food systems and the dissemination of these research results to organic farmers and agricultural and research communities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Priorities are research on soil health; innovative weed control; issues of emerging insects and diseases; and livestock health. OFRF particularly encourages farmers, ranchers, graduate students, early-career researchers, veterans, and extension personnel to consider applying for funding. The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders ages 18-35 in the ASEAN countries. The Consulate General Surabaya announces an open competition for a cooperative agreement to develop and implement a five-day workshop in Bali, Indonesia connecting social enterprises and startup incubators interested in responding to environmental challenges in Southeast Asia.
