The Sharjah Advanced Industry Accelerator seeks innovative startups with a market-proven solution to the challenges of Industry 4.0 interested in entering the UAE and MENA market. Focus areas of the 2021 accelerator include Sustainable Design (optimizing natural resources to reduce environmental damage) and Green Building, among others. The finalists will have investment access in order to scale their project, and the chance to win the US$100 thousand grand prize. Future Agro Challenge — Agripreneur Global Championship
The Future Agro Challenge (FAC) is a global competition for food and agribusiness startups. Ideas and ventures will be selected to compete for the title of “Agripreneur of the Year.” The challenge is open to ideas in many areas such as agroforestry, sustainability, agriculture tourism, and others. Selected agripreneurs will gain access to mentors, investors, potential clients, and new market opportunities at the FAC Global Championships, an event at the Global Agripreneurs Summit. 100,000 Strong in the Americas — Higher Education Partnerships
The 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund is designed to create and foster partnerships between higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Americas and the United States to provide new student exchange and training programs. The Fund makes grants of US$25 thousand to support higher education partnerships between the United States and higher education institutions in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Belize, the Dominican Republic. Eligible academic areas include, but are not limited to: Environment & Climate Solutions; Food & Agricultural Sciences; Biotechnology; Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH); and others. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Short Courses
IHE Delft offers a variety of short and specialized courses which are aimed at mid-career professionals and senior experts. Courses focus on water and environmental law, water conflict analysis, water resources planning, and many other water related fields. Fieldwork, excursions and field visits often are a part of a short course. A small number of scholarships (Orange Knowledge Scholarships, WWF Professional Development Grants, and MENA Scholarship Program), each with a different deadline, are available to deserving candidates. Eurasia Foundation — Innovative Solutions Grants (Kazakhstan)
The Eurasia Foundation (EF) announces Innovative Solutions Grants in support of civil society organizations in Central Asia (Kazakhstan). Grants are designed for civil society representatives proposing new solutions to social problems and civic initiatives that can lead to demonstrable positive change. Funding amounts range from US$2 thousand to US$10 thousand. Applications will be accepted in Kazakh and Russian. Erbacher Foundation — Support for Rural Development 2021
The Erbacher Foundation supports rural development in subject areas that include livestock husbandry, crop production, drinking water, and environmental protection. The priority countries are India, Tanzania, and Uganda. Applications are invited from Germany charitable organizations involved in development cooperation. Applying organizations need to have partnerships with local NGOs. The German institution is responsible for project administration and coordination. Filmmakers Without Borders — Support for Independent Filmmakers
Filmmakers Without Borders seeks applications for its Filmmaking Grants to support independent filmmakers around the world via grants and other funding initiatives. Supported projects include narrative films, documentary films, and new media projects that align with themes of social justice, empowerment, and climate change. Grants are available for all of the following stages of production: Development (up to US$1,000); Production (up to US$5,000); Post-production: (up to US$2,500); and Film Festival Applications (up to US$750).
