Reversing Environmental Degradation in Africa and Asia (REDAA) invites proposals for locally-led research-to-action restoration programs in Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Nine Program Grants of between £1 million and £1.5 million will be offered to the best proposals. Grants will fund programs of four years. UNESCO — Designated Sites in Europe and North America
The UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe launches a call for applications for UNESCO-designated sites in Europe and North America. Eligible UNESCO sites are Biosphere Reserves, Global Geoparks, and Natural and Mixed World Heritage sites. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water management, and other thematic priorities. UK Government — Darwin Plus for British Overseas Territories
The Darwin Initiative contributes knowledge that links biodiversity conservation and poverty reduction in low and middle-income countries. Darwin Plus Fellowships aim to build capacity within the UK Overseas Territories through training opportunities. There are two different budget templates for projects requesting over and under £100 thousand. The Project Leader can be based in any country. However, all Darwin Plus projects are expected to seek in-territory partners. Projects led by in-territory partners/organizations are encouraged. F5 — Tech for Good Impact Grants
F5 provides Tech for Good Impact Grants and in-kind donations to help nonprofits update the technological resources they need to address the effects climate change has upon people of color and/or marginalized racial or ethnic communities. The size of the Tech for Good grants is US$50 thousand. Grant funding is open to non-profits in all countries. Applicants must address issues related to environmental justice, such as (but not limited to) climate change mitigation/resilience, hazardous or toxic waste, biodiversity, or environmental education. Pulitzer Center — Ocean Reporting Network
The Pulitzer Center accepts applications for the Ocean Reporting Network (ORN). The network will establish a collaborative ecosystem of journalists around the world to uncover the harmful and illegal practices of the fishing and extractive industries, and systemic threats to marine biodiversity and coastal communities. The Pulitzer Center will cover a reporter’s salary and provide additional support for the media outlet that employs the journalist. Irish Government — Funding for Micro-Projects in the Pacific
The Embassy of Ireland, Canberra (ICMPS) offers grants of up to US$20 thousand to organizations in the Pacific that work on issues related to women’s rights, climate change, biodiversity, conflict resolution, and human rights. Organizations must be based in the Pacific and be an indigenous, locally managed, non-profit organization. Applications are due by 11 April 2023. The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (PA2F) funds and promotes activities for the protection, conservation, and awareness of the Pelagos Sanctuary with a specific focus on biodiversity conservation, and climate action. PA2F encourages submissions of projects that may include knowledge acquisition, conservation, and restoration measures, lobbying/advocacy, or awareness-raising projects.
