The Young Professional Development Program (YPDP) is a two-year program designed to prepare young professionals from OPEC Fund member countries for a career in global development. The themes include poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development, environment, and other related science and technology fields. YPDP offers training, coaching and mentoring, the opportunity to experience different departments and access to professional networks. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants to Report on the Mediterranean Sea
Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers story grants to selected journalists to report on overfishing, illegal fishing and the biodiversity crisis in the Mediterranean region. ENJ expects to make 5 awards of €1.000 each. Applicants can be from any country that borders the Mediterranean Sea. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience. EUROPARC Federation — Study Visits at Protected Areas in Europe and Eurasia
The EUROPARC Federation partners with the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung to promote international cooperation within the European dimension of protected area management. Grants of €3 thousand allow young conservationists to make study visits to one or more protected areas external to their home countries. The study visits should correspond to any of the five themes identified in the announcement. In addition to western Europe, participating countries include Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Village Capital — Ecosystem Restoration
Village Capital invites applications for the “Innovation for Ecosystem Restoration: LatAm 2023” accelerator. The program addresses entrepreneurs championing forest restoration, restoration of aquatic production ecosystems and rewilding throughout Latin America. Participants will receive mentorship and access to an investment analyst. Eligibility extends to (for-profit) startups building locally viable ecosystem restoration solutions. Swedish Institute — Scholarships for South Africa
The Swedish Institute (SI) provides citizens of South Africa with fully-funded international scholarships for master’s studies in Sweden. The scholarship aims to develop future global leaders that will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and contribute to a positive and sustainable development in South Africa. The scholarship is intended for full-time one-year or two-year master’s programs. U.S. Mission to Uganda — Self-Help Program
The special self-help program of the U.S. Embassy to Uganda supports small, sustainable community-based initiatives that have an immediate and strong impact on the local community. The Embassy expects to support different types of projects: from development projects such as agricultural and aquacultural cooperatives to women’s empowerment and the environment. Grants typically range from US$1 thousand to US$10 thousand per project. All applicants must include a significant community contribution. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists worldwide to support the production of in-depth stories that will call attention to coastal resiliency and solutions for coastal issues. EJN welcomes any story ideas that will explore coastal resilience issues, including ecosystem rehabilitation, livelihood and food security, shelter and infrastructure, land use and development. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) makes small grants in support of biodiversity conservation in Indonesia with focus on the “Wallacea Biodiversity Hotspot.” Grants are in support of community-based sustainable small-scale fisheries, protection and conservation of endangered marine species, marine protected areas management, and activities that promote improved marine and coastal ecosystems.
