The India-Japan Cooperative Science Programme (IJCSP) aims to promote bilateral scientific collaboration between Indian and Japanese scientists. Applications are invited from Indian researchers/scientists to submit proposals for Joint Research Projects and Joint Workshops/Seminars. Areas for cooperation for research include Life Science & Agriculture, among others. The duration of the projects can be up to two years. Alexander von Humboldt Foundation — Georg Forster Research Award
The Georg Forster Research Award supports the work of accomplished researchers who are expected to continue to develop research-based solutions to specific challenges facing transition and developing countries. Nominees must be nationals of a developing or transition country, excluding the People’s Republic of China and India. The award amount is €60 thousand. Additionally, award winners are invited to conduct a research project of their own choosing in Germany in close collaboration with a specialist colleague. To support the collaboration, the Foundation may grant additional funding of up to €25 thousand. West African Research Association — Ideas Matter Doctoral Fellowships
The West African Research Association (WARA), in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, announces support for young West African scholars through its Ideas Matter Doctoral Fellowship program. The Fellowship program will award three doctoral research grants of US$4 thousand each. Priority will be given to research projects focusing on women, technology, entrepreneurship, and a wide range of other fields. SEED — Starter Workshop for Eco-Enterprises in Kenya
SEED offers valuable resources and professional support to expand entrepreneurial ideas while learning from peers during interactive SEED Starter workshops. SEED Starter workshops consist of a team of 2-5 members that bring in a business idea for addressing environmental, social and economic challenges. Successful alumni are invited to apply for a SEED Grant for up to €1,000 which pays for resources required to establish the new enterprise. Government of India — ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship
The ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship (AI-RTF) aims to promote cooperation in science, technology and innovation through joint research activities in environmental management, climate change adaptation, agricultural technologies, alternative energy, biodiversity, biotechnology, and others. The Fellowship provides ASEAN young researchers with the opportunity to work at an Indian research/academic institution. The duration of the Fellowship will be for a period of 2-6 months. Fellows receive full financial assistance, including international travel, accommodation, meals, and a one-time grant of up to INR 40 thousand for research expenses. The TED Fellows Program provides transformational support to an international community of visionaries who collaborate across disciplines (many within the thematic fields of the Terra Viva Grants Directory) to create positive change around the world. TED Fellows are chosen based on remarkable achievement, character, and their innovative approach to solving the world’s tough problems. Selected fellows participate in professional training and mentoring with public relations experts, and attend regional meet-ups and retreats for conservation and exchange of ideas. New York Academy of Sciences — Mentoring Program for Girls in STEM
The New York Academy of Sciences’ virtual mentoring program ‘1000 Girls, 1000 Futures’ and ‘The Junior Academy’ accept applications from female students ages 13-17 from around the world. The program connects STEM-focused high school girls to female science mentors and offers an online community with STEM resources. The program also accepts applications of female scientists interested in mentoring young girls. UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment — FoodTech Challenge
The FoodTech Challenge seeks technologies that are on the cusp of transforming food and traditional agriculture practices, efficiently and sustainably. The challenge targets early-stage start-ups, ranging from international university-based research teams to individual entrepreneurs and small firms. The total prize pool is valued at US$2 million. Entrepreneurship Campus — Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition
The Entrepreneurship Campus invites innovative ideas for the Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition to create a culture for entrepreneurship and implement one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Participants are invited to submit their innovative ideas and projects with a societal impact. Entries will be posted on the competition website and are subject to online commenting and public voting. Winners receive a virtual badge and a certificate. Amani Institute — Social Innovation Management
The Amani Institute offers a post-graduate certificate in social innovation management that emphasizes leadership, communication, entrepreneurship and management, and creativity and problem solving. Fellows will participate in a 3-month Immersion phase in Nairobi (Kenya). Fellows represent a diversity of fields contributing to sustainable development, including themes related to the environment.
