Friedrich Naumann Foundation — Scholarships for International Students

The scholarship scheme is open to qualified international candidates studying full-time at German universities. International applicants from all subject areas can apply for a scholarship for their Masters degree as well as PhD. The minimum funding covers two semesters. Each grant is worth up to €850 per month. Deadlines for application are 30 April and 31 October of each year. Applications must be submitted through the Friedrich Naumann Foundation

Flemish Inter-University Council — International Training Programme on ‘eR-Biostat’

VLIR-UOS is the secretariat of Flemish universities for development cooperation, with funding by Belgian Development Cooperation. VLIR-UOS announces the International Training Programme on ‘eR-Biostat’ that will take place at Hasselt University, Belgium. The program aims to train the participants in using and developing a new E-learning system in Biostatistics/Statistics. Eligibility for scholarships extends to applicants in 31 developing countries of Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. World Bank — Ideas for Action Competition 2020

Ideas for Action is a knowledge platform of the World Bank Group and the Zicklin Center for Business Ethics Research at the Wharton School. The annual Ideas for Action competition seeks innovative ideas and actionable projects to support the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Past winners include water solutions for better fish farm yields, women-led business models to improve sustainable access to energy, web based solutions for agriculture processes, and many more. Teams must consist of two to six members and may be formed across different schools, institutions, companies, or countries. Students and young professionals between the ages of 18-35 years from around the world are invited to participate. The winners of the competition present their ideas at the annual meeting of the World Bank Group, receive support from a project incubator and coaching. Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research — Bridging Grants for Research Collaboration with East and Southeast Asia

The Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research provides bridging grants to Swiss researchers for the extension of small cooperation projects (exchange grant, workshop, seed funding) with Asian partners. The call is open to all scientific disciplines and fields of research. The Fund provides a maximum of CHF 25 thousand for the preparation of a joint project proposal. The Swiss scientist is the main applicant. Collaborators must be scientists affiliated with a university or a public research institute from China, Japan, South Korea, or ASEAN member states (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam). ASEAN Foundation — Post-graduate Scholarship Program in Science and Technology

The Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) and the ASEAN Foundation (AF) accept applications for the Post-graduate Scholarship Program in Science and Technology 2020. Fields of study under this program are (1) Applied Biological Sciences: Environmental Health; (2) Environmental Toxicology; (3) and Chemical Biology. The scholarship will cover tuition, round trip airfare, a monthly stipend, book allowance, and health insurance, among other expenses. International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis — Science Communication Fellowship 2020

IIASA is an international scientific institute that conducts research into the critical issues of global environmental, economic, technological, and social change. The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) accepts applications for its summer 2020 Science Communication Fellowship. The science communication fellow will gain experience in communicating complex systems science for a general audience through a variety of platforms. Euromena Consulting invites applications for the 3rd Euromena Awards – Sub-Saharan Africa Edition. The awards are intended for companies or innovative projects with social, economic, environmental and/or societal impact. To be eligible, the startup must be based in a sub-saharan country. The three winners will receive 6 months of customized business consulting (coaching, mentorship, and advisory services), plus financial rewards – 1st place €5 thousand; 2nd place €3 thousand; 3rd place €2 thousand. Chivas Venture — Funding for Social Entrepreneurs

Chivas Venture provides start-ups and social entrepreneurs with project funding. Past projects include projects in the thematic areas of plastic waste, agriculture, and other environmental or humanitarian themes. 20 Finalists will participate in a 3-day Accelerator Program in London and the winners share a total of US$1 million in funding. Delft University of Technology — Sub-Saharan Africa Excellence Scholarships

TU Delft | Global Initiative offers four (4) Sub-Saharan Africa Excellence Scholarships to to study at the Delft University of Technology. The scholarship offers €25 thousand per year to applicants admitted to one of the 2-year regular MSc programs. Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Biotechnology Fellowships in USA

The IUSSTF announces the 2020 Khorana Program for Scholars. The program will provide a stipend, airfare, and health insurance to enable Indian students to undertake 10-12 weeks of research at U.S. universities in areas of biotechnology, including agricultural biotechnology.
