The aim of the Newton PhD Program offers full-time PhD scholarships for Filipino researchers at a UK higher education institution. The project must fall within the following priority areas (relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory): Improving environmental resilience; Improving energy security; Agritech; among other thematic areas. For an applicant to be considered for the DOST-Newton PhD Scholarship, the applicant must be a Filipino Citizen and have already been accepted to a PhD program in the UK. The scholarship will cover travel costs, monthly accommodation and living allowance, tuition fees, and a grant for consumables (up to a maximum of £3 thousand per year). The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders in the ASEAN countries.
