Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) seeks to contribute to economic empowerment of women enterprises in the Blue Economy in Kenya. The funding window is available for commercial private sector enterprises that economically empower women and young women in the Blue Economy. The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) announces the applications for Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) Fund. The Baltic Sea Action Plan Fund supports projects that will benefit the ecological well being of the Baltic Sea. The fund finances new initiatives and support activities across the Baltic Sea region including Estonia, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and Belarus. Milken Institute and Motsepe Foundation — Prize in Green Energy
The Milken-Motsepe Prize in Green Energy is a global competition to reward entrepreneurs and innovators working to address the most pressing and immediate challenges related to access to green, renewable energy. Registration is free and open to anyone, with a US$1 million grand prize available for the winning team, and US$1 million in additional prizes. Teams from anywhere in the world can register and submit designs and business models. An independent panel of expert judges will select semi-finalist teams to receive US$20 thousand each. Land Innovation Fund — Deforestation-free Agriculture
The Land Innovation Fund (LIF) invites proposals for the implementation of projects that present innovative solutions to address urgent issues on climate and environmental agendas for sustainable, low-carbon, deforestation-free agriculture. This call focuses on the sustainable and deforestation-free soy supply chain in South America’s Cerrado, Gran Chaco, and Amazon biomes. The funding amounts vary depending on the complexity of each proposal, ranging from US$500 thousand to US$2 million. European Commission — Sustainable Food Production
The European Commission (EC) seeks to promote sustainable food production of socially and environmentally inclusive agriculture value chains targeting local markets in Rwanda. The priority of this call for proposals is to promote actions aiming at enhancing food production and availability by Rwandan local producers and cooperatives, including women farmers and women cooperatives. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between €500 thousand and €700 thousand. The lead applicant must be a local authority and be established in Rwanda. U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service — Marine Turtle Management and Conservation Program Pacific Islands
The International Marine Turtle Management and Conservation Program supports conservation, protection, or management actions supporting recovery of endangered sea turtle species occurring within the Pacific Islands Region. The program funds internationally-based projects to protect conserve western Pacific leatherback sea turtles occurring in Indonesia and Solomon Islands, and sea turtle management and conservation projects within Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Philippines, or Indonesia) and Japan with focus on fishery bycatch, nesting beach monitoring, poaching reduction, and/or the illegal sea turtle wildlife trade. Proposals between US$10 thousand and US$100 thousand per project year will be funded. Projects may apply for up to three years in length. Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education, nonprofits, commercial organizations, foreign institutions, foreign organizations, and governments.
