European Union — Investments in Primary Agricultural Production
The European Union announces investments in primary agricultural production in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) with the aim of achieving sustainable agriculture. The call supports rural development related to agriculture and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The maximum grant amount is BAM 200 thousand per applicant. U.S. Agency for International Development — Water Sanitation and Hygiene in Rwanda
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified entities to implement THRIVE-Water, Sanitation and Hygiene activity in Rwanda. The overall goal is to improve the utilization of safe drinking water and sanitation services. The total funding amount is US$21 million. Eligibility is unrestricted. The Social Alpha Agritech Challenge 2.0 seeks innovators and start-ups with science and technology-based solutions that have the potential to create an impact in the lives of smallholder farmers in India. The winners receive support in the areas of product development, testing, pilots, product validation, product management and market strategy. Additional funding will be decided on a case-to-case basis. The challenge is open to individuals, teams, social enterprises, nonprofits, and companies registered in India. BIOPAMA — Small Technical Grants for Assessment of Conservation Areas
Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management (BIOPAMA) makes small grants for the technical assessment of protected conservation areas. Small Technical Grants for Assessment (STGA) aim to identify result-oriented priority actions for improved protected and conserved areas management and governance. The maximum amount is €20 thousand per assessment. Assessments must take place in priority areas such as key landscapes for conservation, key biodiversity areas, marine managed areas or other protected and conserved areas in Africa, the Caribbean and the Asia-Pacific region. German Government — International Climate Initiative Peru
Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI) supports projects on climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainable energy, and biodiversity projects with climate relevance in Peru. The German Government will support projects ranging from €12 million to €15 million. Non-governmental organizations, enterprises, universities and research institutions from Germany and abroad are eligible to apply. Program outlines can be submitted until 07 April 2021. U.S. Agency for International Development — Community Response to Conservation Crimes
The United States Agency for International Development in Peru (USAID/Peru) seeks applications from qualified entities to implement the “Regional Community Response to Conservation Crimes” program. USAID aims to increase civil society led efforts to promote society values and raise awareness of the benefits of protecting both biodiversity and cultural identity linked to the Amazon Biome. Projects should include approaches for alternative economic development that safeguards cultural identities and expands livelihoods while protecting biodiversity on land and water. European Commission — Climate-Neutral Cities
The European Commission (EC) seeks partners to develop a one-stop shop platform that provides technical, regulatory, financial and socio-economic expertise to cities for developing and implementing their climate action plans in support of a climate-neutral economy by 2050. The project can involve research organizations, academia, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, national and local authorities and citizens. The platform should facilitate the coordination of ongoing European activities in the area of climate neutrality for cities. European Commission — Land-Based & Offshore Renewable Energy Technologies
The European Commission seeks applications for innovative land-based and offshore renewable energy technologies. Proposals should address either the development of land-based renewable energy technologies or innovative technologies to enable future large scale deployment of offshore renewable energy. Land-based energy projects may request a contribution of €3-6 million. Off-shore energy projects may request a contribution of up to €25 million. French Development Agency — Reporting on Sustainable Development in African Languages
The French Development Agency (AFD) offers to support 48 media agencies from Sub-Saharan Africa. The Afri’Kibaaru project will support the production and dissemination of information related to sustainable development in several local languages. The project will be implemented in the following six countries: Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Chad, and Senegal. The objective is that the multi-lingual media content allows populations to better understand important issues related to climate change, health, education, equality, and more. AFD seeks to support radio, TV, and online media as well as experienced editorial staff and journalists. Fluency in French is required. The application deadline is 10 December 2020. Link
