Brazil-UK PACT — Mobilising Green Investment Program

Brazil-UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions) seeks proposals to fund projects that will support the Brazilian government in enhancing the reach and effectiveness of green finance in the country. The program funds capacity-building interventions that aim to increase the mobilization of green investments to mitigate climate change, while also helping to drive economic development. Funding of up to £500 thousand is available per project/year. Projects should support public financial institutions to allocate and leverage green finance resources or support measures for national and subnational governments to mobilize different sources of capital towards green projects. Eugenio Garza Lagüera Entrepreneurship Institute — Climate Acceleration Program

The Eugenio Garza Lagüera Entrepreneurship Institute invites applications for an acceleration program to develop capabilities and provide resources to startups with high business potential and climate impact. Entrepreneurs must have a product or service that aligns with at least one of the following impact areas: Energy access and generation; Low emission transport; Buildings, cities, industries, and appliances; Forestry and land use resources. The program includes a grant without dilution from equity to €100 thousand and mentorship from experts. Businesses located in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, or the Dominican Republic are eligible to apply. The application deadline is 23 August 2024. Details

Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in Tanzania

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) releases a call for Letters of Inquiry for organizations that address the conservation of biodiversity in light of climate change in the Indian Ocean Islands of Tanzania and Zanzibar. CEPF expects to make between 6-10 awards with a maximum value of US$200 thousand. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs, community groups, private enterprises, universities, and other civil society applicants. The deadline for letters of inquiry is 04 September 2024. Link

Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research — Visiting Scholar

The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) provides visiting scholarships to mid- to late-career stage scientists and academics involved in Antarctic research. Scholars can undertake short-term visits (up to 4 weeks) to an institute in another SCAR member country, to provide training and mentoring. Institute of International Education — Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowships

The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program offers short-term fellowships to African-born academics at universities in the USA and Canada to collaborate with African universities in research, curriculum co-development, and/or graduate student training. Project requests to host scholars are submitted by universities and other higher education institutions in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda. Past scholars in the program have included several in agriculture, environment, and related disciplines. Scholar applications must be submitted before 18 September 2024. Link

MDPI — Climate Travel Awards 2025

The Climate Editorial Board offers travel awards to junior scientists working on climate-related research. The financial support of CHF800 can be used to attend an international conference held in 2025 focusing on the climate processes of the earth. The winner of the award is expected to hold a presentation and present a poster at the conference. Applicants must be postdoctoral fellows or PhD students involved in climate-related sciences. Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean — Rural World in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean seeks research proposals to fund up to nine research projects that contribute to understanding the main problems faced by rural societies and productive means in the economies of Latin America and the Caribbean. Three projects will be selected from those related to poverty and inequality, three from risk and climate change and sustainable development, while the remaining three will be selected from those related to rurality. International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies — Youth Innovation Award

The International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) invites applications for the Youth Innovation Award. CIHEAM will reward an innovative solution (scientific or entrepreneurship product/service) that contributes to the green and blue transition to improve human well-being and social equity while reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities and contributing to zero climate impact. The selected awardee will receive a financial grant of €10 thousand. Applicants must be young Mediterranean, aged not more than 39 years. The deadline is 15 August 2024. Friends of Nepal — Nepal Grants

Friends of Nepal (FoN) supports initiatives that fight climate change and environmental degradation and provide solutions to agricultural and economic development in Nepal. FoN welcomes applications that simultaneously address climate change, natural resource conservation, and sustainability as well as economic development. Each year, Earth Company selects one Impact Hero that has the potential to transform the future of developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Impact Heroes are visionary leaders who tackle some of the most pressing social and environmental challenges and make transformative changes to the communities they serve. Earth Company provides 3 years of support through leadership coaching, fundraising, marketing, and business development. Eligibility extends to everybody and all forms of organizations.
