The International Council for Science (ICSU), in collaboration with partner science organizations, offers research grants on the inter-relationships among energy systems, health impacts of air pollution, land use and urban planning, adaptation to climate change, and disaster risks in African urban settings. Global Observation of Forest and Land Cover Dynamics — GOFC-GOLD Training Program
Global Observation of Forest and Land Cover Dynamics (GOFC-GOLD) is an international program to provide space-based and in-situ observations of forests and other land cover. These observations are intended to support sustainable management of natural resources and to help provide a better understanding of the terrestrial carbon budget. In association with START, GOFC-GOLD will hold its fifth data initiative in October 2016 for advanced training on access, management, use, and application of earth observation data. The training will be offered at the Sirindhorn Center for Geo-Informatics, Space Krenovation Park, in Thailand. The course is designed for young scientists associated with the GOFC-GOLD regional networks, especially in Southeast Asia. U.S. Department of State — Youth Debates in India on Climate Change
The North India Office of the U.S. Embassy New Delhi invites program proposals for a series of university-level youth debates on climate change and related environmental issues. The aim is to raise awareness about the complex conversations in this subject among college youth in the Indian states and territories of Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. U.S. Department of State — Morocco Green Growth Climate Challenge
The U.S. Department of State will make one grant for approximately US$400 thousand to assist Morocco with a competition to help build capacity to mitigate the impacts of climate change through the use of clean energy and energy-efficient technologies. The challenge will feature small grants for workshops on energy technologies, public policy, and business development. Applications to manage the challenge are invited from non-profit NGOs; private, public, and state institutions of higher education; and for-profit organizations and businesses in the U.S. and elsewhere (e.g., Morocco). The V. Kann Rasmussen Foundation makes grants to address threats caused by climate change, unsustainable consumption, and loss of biodiversity. The Foundation works primarily in the USA on issues that are national and international. LEDS Global Partnership — Fellowships on Low-Emission Development Strategies
The LEDS Global Partnership offers fellowships for individuals and teams of practitioners to be embedded with leading institutions to learn practical lessons that they can apply to low-emission development strategies and/or nationally determined contributions in their home countries. Fellowships will be awarded to individuals or groups of national or sub-national government officials who play a significant role within LEDS development or implementation. Research Council of Norway — Norway-China Research on Hazardous Substances and Pollution
The Research Council of Norway sponsors the MILJØFORSK program (2016-2025) to generate new knowledge about biodiversity, cultural environments, ecosystem services, hazardous substances, and pollution. The current call for proposals will focus on pollution sources, inputs, and spread – including the re-mobilisation of hazardous substances as a result of climate change – as well as the effects of pollution impacts on the environment and health. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change — Global Video Competition on Climate Change
UNFCCC announces its second annual Global Youth Video Competition on Climate Change. The competition invites young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to submit three-minute videos about their actions to address climate change or to raise public awareness about it. Two winners will receive a round trip and accommodations to attend the UN Climate Change Conference in November 2016 (Marrakech, Morocco). The deadline for submissions is 01 August 2016. Link

The European Commission announces its global event, “Innovative and Effective Approaches to Climate Change Adaptation and Other Post-COP21 Agreement Priorities,” scheduled for three days in September 2016. The event in Brussels will explore how experience on the ground influences policy development and vice-versa through discussion of four specific topics. The conference organizers invite proposals on these topics from EU Delegation representatives; implementing partners; governmental bodies; and non-state actors from academia, NGOs, and the private sector. Lincoln Institute of Land Policy — Research on Land Policy and Urban Development in Latin America 2017
The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy calls for proposals on several themes related to land policy and urban development in Latin America. One of these themes is climate change and environmental risks, such as for populations living on flood plains and steep slopes.
