Quadrature Climate Foundation, Google DeepMind, and Global Methane Hub announce funding for projects at the intersection of AI and climate change. The aim is to create Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions that can help support climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as climate science, across many different areas, for example, energy, agriculture, forestry, climate modeling, and disaster response. Climate Change AI Innovation Grants will provide up to US$150 thousand per proposal, for projects of 12 months in duration. Earth Journalism Network — Climate Resilience
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers a training and grant opportunity for social media content producers in the Philippines. As part of this program, EJN will offer P108 thousand each to 10 social media content producers in the Philippines. Selected content producers will participate in a 4-day in-person training workshop on climate change and climate resilience and, with support from mentors, produce and disseminate four pieces of climate-related video content on social media platforms. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) hosts a virtual media workshop for journalists from Africa interested in reporting on net zero. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience and a history of covering environmental and net zero issues. Lipman Family Prize — Funding for Social Change
Each year, the Lipman Family Prize awards cash to three social impact organizations – US$250 thousand for the winning organization and US$125 thousand for each of the two other honorees. The award recognizes and amplifies the work of organizations devoted to positive social impact and creating sustainable solutions to significant social and economic challenges. Past winners include projects in the field of improved sanitation, energy innovations, and micro-forestry. One World Media — Climate and Labor Film Grant
One World Media seeks experienced filmmakers who want to explore, through a short documentary, how climate change is affecting lives and work in the Global South. The film needs to be 25 minutes or less and be completed by June 2025. The successful filmmaker will receive up to £20 thousand in funding for their film. Wilson Center — International Fellowship Program
The Woodrow Wilson Center offers a 9-month residential fellowship to scholars, practitioners, journalists, and public intellectuals. Fellows conduct research in their areas of interest while interacting with policymakers in Washington and Wilson Center staff and other scholars in residence. The Center accepts proposals that address key challenges confronting the United States and the world. The Center offers a stipend of US$90 thousand.
