Women for Africa Foundation — Research Fellowships in Spain

The Women for Africa Foundation has launched the 9th Edition of its “Science by Women” program. The program aims to promote African women’s leadership in scientific research and technology transfer and to foster the capacity of the research centers in their home countries. Thematic areas include sustainable agriculture and food security, water, energy and climate change; and several others. Each Spanish Centre of Excellence will host one senior woman researcher for a six-month fellowship. Eligibility to apply extends to women who are nationals of any African country, and who have a PhD, with at least three years of postdoctoral experience. Caribbean Climate Investment Program — Climate Finance for Development

The Caribbean Climate Investment Program (CCIP) seeks applications to mobilize private sector financing for technologies that advance climate mitigation and adaptation goals across the Caribbean region. The primary focus is to catalyze financing for the development of RE and EE technology and deploy climate change adaptation interventions that increase the resiliency of clean energy investments in the region. Grants are limited to US$1 million per project. Applicants must be Caribbean-based businesses or organizations. Concept papers will be accepted on a rolling basis through 01 August 2025. Asia Foundation — Grants for Environment and Development

The Asia Foundation makes grants in a wide variety of program areas, including the Environment. Thematic interests in the environment include natural resource management and use; water resource management and transboundary water sharing; climate change adaptation and resilience; disaster preparedness and risk reduction; urban environmental issues; and women and the environment. The Foundation makes most of its grants to organizations based in the Asia-Pacific region. Letters of inquiry may be submitted at any time. Link

Climate and Clean Air Coalition — Innovation Projects in the Agriculture Sector

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition launches a call for proposals seeking solutions to pressing challenges for short-lived climate pollutant mitigation in the agriculture sector. Projects submitted should advance innovative approaches and technologies to improve mitigation action in a developing region, country, or state. The call is open to non-profit entities, including government agencies. The deadline to submit a project concept note is 30 April 2024. Link

Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Nigeria

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives supports small-scale, high-impact projects in Nigeria. The priorities under this call include one on environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as water management. The average contribution is C$30 thousand to C$60 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. International Water Association — The Climate Smart Utilities Recognition Program

The International Water Association (IWA) launches the third edition of the IWA Climate Smart Utilities Recognition Program. The program recognizes ambitious and innovative efforts towards a low-carbon water and sanitation sector by utilities that are embracing the need to adapt to and mitigate climate change. Watson Institute — Education in Social Entrepreneurship

The Watson Institute offers a 16-week program designed for entrepreneurs seeking to elevate their ventures with access to a global network, training designed to strengthen skills, and mentorship with seasoned professionals, venture capitalists, and executives. Fellows can earn up to US$6,000 in seed funding for their venture. Eligibility extends to entrepreneurs leading an early-stage social impact venture, with a preference to applicants from the USA, Brazil, China, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. U.S. Department of State — Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowships 2025-2026

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program supports non-degree academic study and related professional experiences in the U.S. for experienced professionals from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Fellows are hosted at universities in the USA. Program fields include agriculture and rural development; natural resources, environmental policy, climate change; and many others.
