The International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) invites applications for the Youth Innovation Award. CIHEAM will reward an innovative solution (scientific or entrepreneurship product/service) that contributes to the green and blue transition to improve human well-being and social equity while reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities and contributing to zero climate impact. Quadrature Climate Foundation — Climate Change AI
Quadrature Climate Foundation, Google DeepMind, and Global Methane Hub announce funding for projects at the intersection of AI and climate change. The aim is to create Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions that can help support climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as climate science, across many different areas, for example, energy, agriculture, forestry, climate modeling, and disaster response. Climate Change AI Innovation Grants will provide up to US$150 thousand per proposal, for projects of 12 months in duration. Earth Journalism Network — Climate Resilience
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers a training and grant opportunity for social media content producers in the Philippines. As part of this program, EJN will offer P108 thousand each to 10 social media content producers in the Philippines. Selected content producers will participate in a 4-day in-person training workshop on climate change and climate resilience and, with support from mentors, produce and disseminate four pieces of climate-related video content on social media platforms. EJN accepts applications from social media content producers who actively and frequently post short-form videos on TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, X, or other leading social media platforms. Earth Journalism Network — Media Workshop: Net Zero in Africa
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) hosts a virtual media workshop for journalists from Africa interested in reporting on net zero. Applicants can be from any country in Africa; applicants from South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria, and Morocco are particularly encouraged to apply. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience and a history of covering environmental and net zero issues. One World Media — Climate and Labor Film Grant
One World Media seeks experienced filmmakers who want to explore, through a short documentary, how climate change is affecting lives and work in the Global South. The film needs to be 25 minutes or less and be completed by June 2025. The successful filmmaker will receive up to £20 thousand in funding for their film. Wilson Center — International Fellowship Program
The Woodrow Wilson Center offers a 9-month residential fellowship to scholars, practitioners, journalists, and public intellectuals. Fellows conduct research in their areas of interest while interacting with policymakers in Washington and Wilson Center staff and other scholars in residence. The Center accepts proposals that address key challenges confronting the United States and the world. The Center offers a stipend of US$90 thousand. Inter-American Development Bank — Regional Public Goods
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) calls for proposals on regional public goods that have the potential to generate significant shared benefits. Proposals that address cross-cutting issues, such as climate change and environmental sustainability (among other themes), are particularly welcomed. Projects should be tri-national, or exceptionally bi-national. The size of the grant typically averages US$500 thousand per project for a maximum of 3 years. Counterpart resources are required. Watson Institute — Western Union Foundation Fellowship
The Western Union Foundation Fellowship is for young entrepreneurs and community leaders who are from highly marginalized, refugee, and forcibly displaced communities around the globe. The 16-week-long program is designed to equip entrepreneurs with the skills and experience to transform their communities. US$25 thousand in seed funding will be distributed among the Fellows. The Thomson Reuters Foundation offers a free communication course for organizations in India, Bangladesh, and Brazil working in communication and journalism. The online course will consist of a series of training in which participants will receive training in parallel with climate journalists. Those who make the shortlist will have an opportunity to pitch their story ideas to the lead trainers for a chance to receive a £300 story grant.
