The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) supports the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries. The scholarships fund cultural and academic exchanges and are awarded across many subjects, including climate resilience and life sciences. Eligibility extends to citizens of (or with refugee status in) a Commonwealth country other than the country hosting the award. Scholarships cover tuition fees, living expenses (stipend) for the duration of the award, return economy flight, one-off arrival allowance, and research support grant (on request). Latin America Regional Fund for Agricultural Technologies — Call for Proposals 2026
The Latin America Regional Fund for Agricultural Technology – Fondo Regional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (FONTAGRO) – calls for innovations for the sustainable increase of agricultural productivity in Latin America and the Caribbean in the context of climate change. FONTAGRO member countries are Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Proposals are accepted from multi-country consortia of public and private organizations at national, regional, and international levels. IUCN — European Rapid-Response Fund for Invasive Alien Species
The IUCN Save Our Species (SOS) invites applications to the European Invasive Alien Species Rapid‑Response Fund. The fund offers quick-release grants ranging from €10 thousand to €50 thousand for projects up to 12 months, to help conservation actors swiftly respond to recent incursions of invasive alien species in Europe before they become established. Accountability Lab East and Southern Africa (ALESA) launches a 12-month Climate Justice Incubator (CJI). The CJI is for young civic leaders aged 18–30 from Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe, focusing on climate-justice innovation, community resilience, storytelling/advocacy, policy change or intersectional climate action. Projects can range from social innovation and policy work to tech-driven and community-based efforts. WASCAL – Innovative Ideas Competition for Sustainable Energy
The West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) provides grants of up to €20 thousand for individuals, groups or registered organizations in West Africa. The call aims to foster and support the implementation of innovative projects in renewable energy and green hydrogen. Any individual or group of young people from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo is eligible. South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics — Environmental and Resource Economics in South Asia
SANDEE invites research concept notes in any area of environmental and resource economics relating to the development of South Asia and the Hindu Kush Himalaya, including environmental issues faced by people living in the plains, hills, and mountains. Examples of research previously supported by SANDEE include: renewable energy subsidies that target the poor; analysis of possible payments to farmers for ecosystem services; and research on the economics of climate change. German Government — International Climate Initiative Small Grants
Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI) supports projects on climate change mitigation and adaptation, and biodiversity projects that have climate relevance. The focus of the IKI Small Grants scheme is to provide support to the implementation of projects addressing the global loss of biodiversity in connection with climate change. IKI Small Grants selects project proposals and provides funding between €60 thousand and €200 thousand. Not-for-profit organizations and for-profit non-government organizations, if they pursue strictly non-profit objectives, are eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is 15 January 2026. German Government — International Climate Initiative Medium Grants
Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI) supports projects on climate change mitigation and adaptation, and biodiversity projects that have climate relevance. The focus of the IKI Medium Grants scheme is to provide support to the implementation of projects addressing the global loss of biodiversity in connection with climate change. Each project can receive a grant of between €300 thousand to a maximum of €800 thousand over a period of two to three years. Funding is available for non-profit organizations (associations, foundations, think tanks) and academic institutions (universities and research institutions), as well as non-profit companies in Germany.
