Greater Mekong Subregion Secretariat — Agriculture and Food Security Program

The Greater Mekong Subregion Secretariat invites applications for demonstration pilots of innovative technologies to supply safe and climate-friendly agri-food products in Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam. Proposed demonstration projects should not exceed US$100 thousand. Government departments, civil society organizations, private companies, universities and research institutes can apply. U.S. Government — International Exchange Grant Program

The Office of Private Sector Exchange (BridgeUSA) announces an open competition for the administration of the 2023 BridgeUSA STEM Scholarship Fund. The Office plans to issue one cooperative agreement of approximately US$260 thousand to implement the program. U.S. public and private non-profit organizations may submit proposals to provide approximately 50 scholarships to foreign university students, scholars, and professionals across Africa, East Asia and Pacific, and Western Hemisphere regions. Sparrow — Early-Career Researcher Grant

Sparrow makes grants to PhD and PostDoc students looking to share their research in environment and climate change. Applicants have to write a 3-minute distilled digest about their research that is easy for the everyday reader to understand. The winner receives US$500. European Commission — Civil Society Organizations Development

The European Commission seeks to contribute to green and inclusive economic growth in the Lao PDR by reinforcing the technical capacities of local civil society organizations to promote Climate Smart Agriculture with a special focus on youth and women. Project partners should prioritize the most vulnerable segments of the populations i.e. women, urban poor, low-income households, farmers, unemployed youth etc. Applicants may request up to €1.5 million for their action plans. Eligibility extends to non-profit civil society organizations established in a Member State of the European Union or in Lao PDR. The closing date for submission of proposals is 26 October 2022. Personio Foundation — Support for Climate Action

Personio Foundation provides financial and strategic support to organizations working in the fields of Climate Action and/or Education. Personio offers unrestricted, multi-year grants between €50 thousand and €100 thousand per year as well as non-financial support and Personio software. Government of Egypt — ClimaTech Run

ClimaTech is the global competition for tech-entrepreneurs and artists addressing the most pressing climate challenges. ClimaTech focuses on the use of information and communications technology in developing innovative solutions and new applications for climate action in the areas of energy, agriculture, and water management. The grand prize is US$100 thousand. A special prize will be given to the top two African startups. Participants must be a registered startup operating for over 2 years. African Institute for Mathematical Sciences Next Einstein Initiative — Women in Climate Change Science

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences Next Einstein Initiative (AIMS-NEI) seeks applications for the AIMS-NEI Fellowships for Women in Climate Change Science to increase women’s contribution to a more sustainable societal response to climate change. Applications are invited from female scientists currently residing anywhere in the world. The fellowship is worth up to US$35 thousand. The application deadline is 31 August 2022. Thomson Reuters Foundation — Reporting on Food Security and Rural Development in South Asia

The Thomson Reuters Foundation invites journalists from South Asia to participate in a workshop, which will cover food security, food production, markets and climate issues. The program will build the capacity of journalists to cover critical rural development issues and will help them produce stories that matter to their audiences. Clean Cooking Alliance — Haiti Clean Cooking Fund

The Haiti Clean Cooking Fund provides financial and technical assistance to support the growth of clean cooking companies in Haiti. The size of individual awards will range from US$25 thousand to US$250 thousand. The Fund will give preference to companies that can provide matched funding (50%). The Fund is open to companies and nonprofit entities in Haiti. Non-Haitian Companies may participate, provided they have an interest in entering the Haitian market or partnering with a local Haitian entity to manufacture, supply, and distribute clean cooking solutions in Haiti on a commercial basis. U.S. Department of State — E-Waste Program

The FRE-E-WASTE program is a two-day workshop, followed by a co-production of a manual on e-waste for Southeast Asian environmental enthusiasts aged between 18 to 35. The program aims to raise awareness on the problem of e-waste and educate that greenhouse gasses could be reduced or avoided if e-waste were properly treated and recycled.
