Climate Tracker seeks emerging journalists and researchers from across Southeast Asia for an online research training fellowship. Research will focus on developing a clearer regional media coverage map and creating brand awareness for the Break Free from Plastic campaign. Fellows will build their relationship with the media in the region, participate in 4 weeks of online training and analyze the coverage of up to 5 publications in their respective country. IDB Lab invites investment management firms to apply for VC funds. Fund managers who wish to participate in the selection process must primarily invest in nascent or emerging early-stage ecosystems in LAC and specialize in high-impact investments and sectors with pronounced structural capital gaps, such as Health/Biotech, Edtech/Workertech, Agtech/Foodtech and Climatetech. Transforming Education for Sustainable Futures — Climate Action Research Network
The Transforming Education for Sustainable Futures (TESF) Network Plus aims to assist education policy makers, institutions, community-based organizations and businesses to implement education policies and practices that can contribute to environmentally sustainable development. TESF invites transdisciplinary research proposals from Rwanda, Somalia, and South Africa. Proposals with focus on sustainable livelihoods, sustainable cities and communities, and climate action are welcome. The Net Zero Challenge is a global competition to answer the question “How can we advance climate action using open data?” Individuals, groups and organizations are invited to submit projects in progress or concepts/ideas. Earth Journalism Network — Indigenous Environmental Journalism Story Grants
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to Indigenous journalists to support the production of in-depth stories that will call attention to climate justice, biodiversity, sustainable ecosystems. ENJ welcomes any story ideas that will explore how environmental and climate change issues are linked to the rights and well-being of Indigenous peoples and communities. European Union — Climate Resilience in Senegal
The European Union (EU) announces a call for proposals for climate change and integrated management of coastal zones in Senegal, focusing on climate resilience at the local level. The objective is to sustainably improve the living conditions of coastal populations affected by climate change. The overall amount made available under this call for proposals is € 2.6 million. Eligibility extends to non-governmental organizations, public sector operators, local authorities that have an operational base and are legally registered in Senegal. French-African Foundation — Young Leaders 2021
The French-African Foundation invites applications for Young Leaders 2021. The program recognizes and supports young leaders to become true agents of change in relation to global challenges. Candidates must be between 28 and 40 years old and have French nationality or the nationality of an African country. Successful candidates will spend five days in France, five days in Senegal, engage in high-level meetings and receive training and mentorship. Flights and accommodation will be provided. European Commission — Climate for Cities
The European Union aims to support Southern Neighborhood cities in their energy and climate transition. Therefore, the European Commission calls for proposals that foster local integrated approaches that ultimately improve societal cohesion locally. Proposals should include a coherent package of activities that encompasses a combination of environmentally sound infrastructure components as well as capacity building and awareness raising activities. Grant funding ranges from €2,5 million to €3,5 million. Please be aware that the EU will not cover more than 30% of the infrastructure component of the project. In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must be a nonprofit making local authority, local public education, academic or research organization in Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, or Tunisia.
