EIT Climate-KIC seeks partners for the delivery of the 2021 Journey Summer School program. Journey Summer School is a part residential, part online educational program for young climate leaders. Project proposals for online training activities can request up to €25 thousand in funding. Project proposals for residential training activities can request up to €38 thousand in funding. This call for proposals is open for applications to partner and non-partner organizations (universities, NGOs, governments, and businesses across Europe). Global Landscape Forum — Landscape Restoration in the Aral Sea Region
The Global Disruptive Tech Challenge 2021 aims to identify and support disruptive technologies and innovative approaches to landscape restoration in the Aral Sea region and Central Asia. Innovators (individuals or organizations) from around the world are invited to submit disruptive technologies that can help alleviate the negative impacts on landscapes from natural and human induced factors (including unsustainable agricultural and forestry practices, water scarcity, and climate change). David and Lucile Packard Foundation — Conservation and Science
The David and Lucile Packard Foundation funds projects for conservation and science in themes that include climate change, ocean conservation, agriculture, and others. The Foundation makes grants to charitable, educational, and scientific organizations in the USA and other countries. Most grants range from US$20 thousand to US$500 thousand. Southern Africa Climate Finance Partnership — Postgraduate Scholarships Climate Finance
The Southern Africa Climate Finance Partnership (SACFP) is a knowledge sharing and capacity enhancement platform for southern African countries seeking access to international climate finance in order to mobilize investments into climate resilient development. SACFP invites postgraduate students to apply for scholarships to undertake research-based degrees focused on climate finance. Applicants must present a MSc or PhD thesis topic related to climate finance. The 2-year PhD scholarship award will be calculated based on the eligible expenses of the field of study. Foundation Future of the Carbon Market — Climate Protection Projects
The Foundation Future of the Carbon Market launches a call for proposals to fund the development of design documents for programmatic mitigation activities with the aim to prepare market based climate protection projects. The Foundation will provide funding for up to 5 selected proposals in different implementing countries. Eligible proponents are private and public entities with proven expertise in topics related to climate change mitigation, carbon markets, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Climate Corporation — Georeferenced Soil Databases
The Climate Corporation seeks information about available georeferenced soil databases and elevation models that can be used as drivers of crop yield variability in parts of Europe and South Africa. The goal is to help farmers optimize soil management and increase economic productivity. The Climate Corporation offers US$10 thousand for the identification of models with more accurate vertical resolution for the countries of interest listed in the call. Swiss National Science Foundation — Vietnamese-Swiss Joint Research Program
The Vietnamese-Swiss Joint Research Program enables researchers in Switzerland to carry out joint projects with research partners in Vietnam. The program supports ambitious research and innovative approaches in all areas of research. A maximum of CHF250 thousand per project will be available for the Swiss part for a project period of up to 3 years. Proposals have to be jointly prepared by Swiss and Vietnamese applicants. European Commission — Restoring Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
The European Commission invites proposals for the restoration of biodiversity and ecosystem services. Projects are expected to focus on degraded terrestrial, freshwater, coastal or marine ecosystems, responding to relevant restoration goals enhancing biodiversity. The project results are expected to contribute to maintained and enhanced natural carbon sinks and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The Commission considers proposals requesting a contribution between €16-25 million. Research organizations in some 130 developing countries are automatically eligible for funding. Socialab — 4Revs Innovation Challenge
4Revs Innovation Challenge is a global call for solutions in food, water, resources, climate change and energy that will help humanity solve survival challenges in one generation (2020-2050). Innovators are invited to submit solutions that are already in the market and contribute to at least one of the 4 Revolutions: Sustainable Agriculture and Food Supply; Water Conservation and Management; Ecosystem Restoration; Climate Change and Sustainable Energy. United Nations Development Programme — Small Grants Program (Maldives)
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) supports small-scale projects for activities that conserve and restore the environment while enhancing people’s wellbeing and livelihoods. Focal areas are biodiversity, seascape conservation, climate change, climate-smart agroecology, and energy access in the Maldives. The maximum grant amount per project is US$30 thousand, however, in exceptional cases, US$50 thousand may be considered.
