Government of India — India-Czech Bilateral Scientific and Technological Cooperation

The Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Czech invite joint proposals under the India-Czech Scientific and Technological Cooperation Programme. Relevant priority areas under this call are (1) natural sciences and biotechnology; and (2) research of climate change, environment and energy; among others. The program will consider a realistic budget for manpower, consumables, and travel expenses (for exchange visits). The duration of each project should be three years. UK Natural Environment Research Council — The Role of the Southern Ocean in Climate Change

The aim of this Research Programme is to provide the scientific basis to inform international climate policy of the role of the Southern Ocean (SO) carbon system in climate change. Under this call, two proposals will funded at a maximum cost of £325 thousand each. European Commission — Entrepreneurship for Food Security in Honduras

The European Commission seeks to promote entrepreneurs (startups) with innovative solutions that improve the food and nutritional security in Honduras. Priority areas include mitigating the negative effects of climate change and unsustainable use of energy and natural resources. The grant amount requested under this call must be €826 thousand. Corra Foundation — Climate Justice Innovation Funding

The Climate Justice Innovation Fund (CJIF) is open to any Scottish-based organisation, working in partnership with in-country partner(s), to support the delivery of climate justice-related projects in Malawi, Zambia or Rwanda. European Commission — Resilience to Climate Change in Madagascar

The European Commission seeks to support sustainable agricultural development and contribute to the improvement of the food security and the resilience to climatic hazards of rural households in Madagascar. Any grant application under this call must fall between the minimum and maximum amounts of €700 thousand and €3.28 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in the European Union, or in one of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States, or in one of the least developed countries. Earth Journalism Network — Asia-Pacific Health-Related Climate Change Story Grants

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) makes grants to journalists in the Asia-Pacific region to cover stories on the health impacts of climate and environmental change. Particular attention should be given to the adaptation needs, challenges, efforts and success stories of vulnerable and marginalized communities, women and youth. Eligibility extends to professional journalists and other expert media practitioners. EJN expects to award around 10 small grants at an average grant size of US$2 thousand each. Government of Canada — Development Impact Window

The Government of Canada seeks Canadian Small and Medium Organizations (SMO) to apply to the Development Impact Window. The aim of this call is to reduce poverty and vulnerability in developing countries by promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls. Action areas under this call include one on ‘Environment and Climate Action’. The total amount of funding available under this call is up to CA$36 million over five years. Only Canadian SMOs with projects in one or more official development assistance-eligible countries (especially Sub-Saharan Africa) may apply. Concept notes have to be submitted by 10 July 2019. British Council — Newton Fund Researcher Links Regional Workshops

Newton Fund Researcher Links Regional Workshops bring together early-career researchers from the UK and other regional partner countries to allow them to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. The program intends to tackle global challenges – such as climate and environment, sustainable energy, water and sanitation, rural and urban development, and food safety among others. Nordic Climate Facility — Testing the Business Viability of Climate Solutions

The Nordic Climate Facility accepts applications for the current call for proposals on the theme of “Testing the Business Viability of Climate Solutions”. Projects should be implemented through partnerships between relevant Nordic institutions and qualified local partners in eligible low-income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Latin America (full list in the announcement).
