The Blue Action Fund announces a new open call for grant proposals focusing on Africa’s Atlantic coast from Morocco to South Africa. The Fund provides individual grants to selected conservation projects with focus on marine protected areas (MPAs) to support conservation of biodiversity, and projects that seek to enhance livelihood conditions and food security. The Fund will award grants of €1-3 million. Eligible applicants are NGOs with proven experience in coastal and marine conservation and sustainable livelihood development in the area. United Nations Development Programme — Coral Reef Rehabilitation
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) seeks NGOs to implement the ‘Restoring Marine Ecosystem Services by Rehabilitating Coral Reefs to Meet a Changing Climate Future’ project. The goal is to reduce the impact of climate change on local communities and coral reef dependent economic sectors in the Republic of Mauritius and the Republic of Seychelles. U.S. Mission to Eswatini provides small grants to registered self-help groups and community-based organizations in Swaziland. Grants are made in support of projects that improve living conditions in local communities, including safe water access and basic sanitation. Awards range from US$3 thousand to US$9 thousand. The Yunus&Youth Fellowship Program is a six-month online program for young social entrepreneurs from all around the world. The program is designed for young early-stage social business leaders that have the potential to solve community-based problems with focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will be matched with a mentor, participate in expert webinars with business professionals and receive help with business plan development. SEI welcomes concept notes for regional strategic events in Asia that focus on advancing environmentally sustainable development with integration of gender and social equality and rights-based approaches. U.S. Embassy Luanda — Community Projects in Malawi
The U.S. Embassy in Malawi provides funding to support local requests for small community-based development projects. The project must be submitted by an organized group who have already successfully implemented projects in the community. All citizens of Malawi representing a group or organization may request funding for a community activity. The requested amount for implementing activities cannot exceed US$8 thousand.
