The Forest Foundation Philippines supports activities that foster the protection and sustainable management of forests in the Philippines. Proposed projects should contribute to the protection and sustainable management of forests and biodiversity. Grants may be used for scientific research, piloting forest management strategies in small islands ecosystems (includes Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas and Locally Conserved Areas), mangrove rehabilitation, or plant nurseries. Proponents may apply for small (Php 500 thousand), medium (Php 4 million) or large grants (Php 24 million). Individuals, groups and organizations are eligible to apply. The International Tree Foundation makes grants through its Sustainable Community Forestry Program to conserve and restore local forest resources and associated biodiversity; improve local livelihoods; and increase local resilience to climate change. ITF welcomes applications for community tree projects that take place in Commonwealth countries of Africa. United States Agency for International Development — Uganda Biodiversity For Resilience Activity
USAID seeks applications from qualified entities to implement the USAID/Uganda Biodiversity For Resilience Activity. The goal is to assist communities, the government, and the private sector to conserve and manage biodiversity for lasting environmental and economic sustainability. USAID intends to provide up to US$15 million, to be allocated over a five-year period. The National Geographic Society supports projects that empower community-based organizations and Indigenous Peoples groups engaged in forest conservation and sustainable forest management. This call supports the development and implementation of conservation programs, capacity building activities, and networking initiatives focused on achieving conservation objectives. Community projects with focus on ecotourism or climate-smart forest management practices are welcome. Applicants may request up to US$150 thousand. Scottish Government — International Development Small Grants 2020
The Scottish Government’s International Development Small Grants Programme provides project funding in support of the government’s International Development Policy. Applications for grants are invited from incorporated not-for-profit organisations which have a presence in Scotland and an annual turnover of less than £250 thousand. Project grants should focus on any of Malawi, Rwanda, or Zambia in themes of food security; renewable energy; climate change; water; and others. Grants for capacity building and feasibility studies will be accepted in relation to any country designated as medium/low on the UN’s Human Development Index — but with priority for Malawi, Rwanda, and Zambia. Save Our Species (SOS) makes grants for conservation actions on threatened species and their habitats in Central Asia. This Call is accepting proposals targeting the conservation of the Goitered Gazelle (Gazella subgutturosa) and the Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia) and their habitats in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) accepts applications from organizations seeking to enhance their community’s ability to prepare for extreme events such as droughts, floods, wildfires, and other consequences of climate change.
