The OSME’s Conservation Fund makes grants to support bird research in the Middle East, Caucasus, and Central Asia. The Fund supports projects benefiting species and habitats, especially Globally Threatened and Near Threatened birds, and sites important for bird conservation (Important Bird Areas) in the OSME region. Ocean Foundation — Scholarship for Sea Turtle Preservation
The Ocean Foundation and the Boyd Lyon Sea Turtle Fund seek applicants for the Boyd N. Lyon Scholarship. Students with field research projects on sea turtle behavior and habitat use in the marine environment, as well as projects that promote sea turtle conservation in coastal ecosystems, can apply. One award of US$2,500 will be made to a Masters or PhD student. The applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university during 2026/2027. The application deadline is 15 January 2026. Waterbird Society — Research Grants for Wading Birds
The Waterbird Society offers three grants to advance the biology, ecology, or conservation biology of wading birds. The Kushlan award (herons, egrets, storks, ibises, and spoonbills) is a maximum of US$7 thousand; the Niblet award (terns or gulls) is up to US$1 thousand, and the Waterbird Society Research Award of US$3 thousand covers basic research on species not covered by other Waterbird Society grants. Vinnova — Collaborative R&D Projects
The Swedish innovation agency Vinnova invites collaborative R&D projects between Sweden and Brazil in the areas of sustainable mining, bioeconomy, or sustainable cities, aiming to develop commercially viable products, services or processes. Eligible consortia must include at least one Swedish and one Brazilian company, with the possibility to include universities or research institutes as partners. Antarctic Wildlife Research Fund — Krill Fishing and Marine Ecosystem
The Antarctic Wildlife Research Fund (AWR) calls for proposals from scientific researchers who can aid in determining the impact of the krill fishing industry on the Antarctic marine ecosystem. TED-Ed — Earth School
Earth School consists of 30 days of nature-focused content for learners of all ages. Each Quest includes videos and a quiz, combined with a series of engaging learning resources curated by environmental experts. Teachers and parents are invited to use these lessons and activities to keep their students and kids engaged and connected to the outside world. Lessons are free and accessible anytime. International Science Partnerships Fund — Amazon Workshop Grants
The International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF) invites joint proposals from UK and Brazilian researchers to support collaborative development-focused research in the Brazilian Amazon. Workshops must bring together early-career researchers to address development, biodiversity, climate, and land-use issues in the Legal Amazon, and host up to 40 participants. Box Impact Fund — Digital Transformation to Save our Planet
The Box Impact Fund will award a total of US$150 thousand to six different non-profit organizations pursuing digital transformation projects. Each selected organization will receive a US$25 thousand grant to put their idea into action. The project category “Protecting the Planet” covers areas such as environmental protection, energy conservation, renewable energy, nature conservation, and biodiversity. UNOPS — Pollution in the Black Sea
The Eco-Innovation Challenge seeks innovative solutions to tackle pollution sources such as agricultural runoff, municipal wastewater, industrial chemicals, and marine litter affecting the Black Sea. Innovators from eligible countries may apply through two windows: a Focus Country Window (Georgia, Moldova, Türkiye) for deployment-ready interventions (grants of US$50 thousand to US$300 thousand) and a Greater Black Sea Window for earlier-stage ideas (technical assistance up to US$20 thousand). UNESCO — Youth Innovation Contest
The UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) invites children and young people to take part in the 2025 Youth Innovation Contest. Participants can submit creative works that reflect their vision of a more sustainable planet, using any format (painting, story, poem, or a research essay). The contest is open to two age groups: Children’s Group (5-12 years old) and Youth Group (13-17 years old). Participants are encouraged to create works focusing on Climate Change, Biodiversity, Building Sustainable Communities, Protecting Water Resources, and Clean Energy.
