East-West Center — Graduate Degree Fellowship

The Graduate Degree Fellowship provides funding for graduate students from Asia, the Pacific, and the United States to participate in capacity building and leadership development programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawai‘i. The fellowship covers the cost of tuition and fees, books, and housing. Eligibility extends to citizens or permanent residents of the United States, Asia, and countries in the Pacific region (including Russia). MDPI — Water Young Investigator Award 2023

MDPI, a publisher of peer-reviewed, open access journals, invites nominations for the Water 2023 Young Investigator Award. The winner will receive CHF 2000. This prize will be given to two young investigators in recognition of their excellence in the field of all aspects of water, including water science, technology, management, and governance. Candidates must be under 35 years and be nominated by senior researchers. The deadline for nominations is 30 April 2023. More information

Conservation Nation — Emerging Conservationist Grants

The Conservation Nation Grant Program provides funding to help save endangered animals and their ecosystems by building a stronger, more diverse community of conservation practitioners. The Emerging Conservationist grant supports conservationists beginning their careers who have the passion and ideas to help save the planet but not the privilege, access, and networks that hold back so many from success. Applicants are eligible for grants up to US$5 thousand. The applicant must be an emerging conservationist (1-7 years) whose home base and place of work are U.S.-based; however, projects and programs can be domestic or international. Global Development Network — Strengthening Research Capacities in Africa

The Global Development Network (GDN) aims to strengthen African social science research institutions and boost the production of research by young researchers. Research institutions can receive funding of up to €100 thousand for capacity building activities in support of young researchers. Eligibility extends to francophone African research institutions on national and regional public policies in the political, social and economic fields. U.S. Department of State — E-Waste Program

The FRE-E-WASTE program is a two-day workshop, followed by a co-production of a manual on e-waste for Southeast Asian environmental enthusiasts aged between 18 to 35. The program aims to raise awareness on the problem of e-waste and educate that greenhouse gasses could be reduced or avoided if e-waste were properly treated and recycled. Global Water Partnership-Caribbean — Youth Workshop Caribbean

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) invites applications to the workshop “To Save the Water…Let’s Talk About Shit”. The workshop will focus on the roles of Youth and the Media in Caribbean Wastewater Management. Participation is open to Caribbean Youth and Journalists residing in Caribbean countries. As part of the workshop, participants will also be given the opportunity to create social media content to raise awareness amongst the wider public. Fondation Segré — Research Support Grants

Fondation Segré supports on-the-ground conservation actions with the goal of improving the status of threatened animal species (terrestrial, freshwater and marine) and their habitats across Asia, the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East. Research Support Grants have a maximum grant size of €5 thousand to support young and early scientists in their research to improve knowledge on threatened species and their role in natural ecosystems. Projects must focus on Lizards, Snakes, or Worm Lizards. Eligibility extends to local or national non-profit organizations. Applicants can submit applications in English or French. West African Research Association — Ideas Matter Doctoral Fellowships

The West African Research Association (WARA), in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, announces support for young West African scholars through its Ideas Matter Doctoral Fellowship program. The Fellowship program will award three doctoral research grants of US$4 thousand each. Priority will be given to research projects focusing on women, technology, entrepreneurship, and a wide range of other fields. The program is open to doctoral students under age 35 who are based in West African institutions of higher education, for research on the continent. The deadline for applications is 14 August 2022. Government of India — ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship

The ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship (AI-RTF) aims to promote cooperation in science, technology and innovation through joint research activities in environmental management, climate change adaptation, agricultural technologies, alternative energy, biodiversity, biotechnology, and others. The Fellowship provides ASEAN young researchers with the opportunity to work at an Indian research/academic institution. The duration of the Fellowship will be for a period of 2-6 months. Fellows receive full financial assistance, including international travel, accommodation, meals, and a one-time grant of up to INR 40 thousand for research expenses. Government of India — Young Scientists Innovator Prize

The BRICS Young Scientist Forum seeks to strengthen existing bilateral and multilateral relations as well as cooperation among its member countries Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. BRICS invites proposals from young scientists with projects in the thematic areas of biomedicine, low-carbon technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and modern agriculture for the 7th BRICS-YSF Conclave in China. All participants will have the opportunity to attend the activities of the Science Communication Program. The program is open to scientists, engineers, technologists, innovators, science journalists, science professionals and researchers. Candidates to the BRICS Young Innovator Prize must be under the age of 30. Please note that candidates working in a private company are not eligible. Projects must be submitted until 10 July 2022.
