World Academy of Sciences — Advanced Research in the Biotechnology

The TWAS-BIOTEC Postdoctoral Fellowship Program offers fellowships to young scientists from developing countries who wish to pursue advanced research in biotechnology. Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture — Young African Entrepreneurs Competition 2022

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) sponsors a competition for young African entrepreneurs (< 35 years) to showcase their business innovations in agribusiness. Although the focus of the competition is agribusiness, business innovations in other themes (e.g., natural resources, meteorology, urbanization, green economy, etc.) will also be considered. Competition will provide seed funding to young entrepreneurs with creative and innovative business ideas. The competition is open to all African countries. Swedish Research Council — Starting Grants in Development Research

The Swedish Research Council funds research projects relevant to the fight against poverty and for sustainable development in low income countries. The applicant for a research project grant must be an individual researcher. Research cooperation between scientists in Sweden and scientists in selected low and middle-income countries is encouraged. The maximum amount is SEK 1.5 million per year for a period of four years. Swedish Research Council — Starting Grants in Natural and Engineering Sciences

The Swedish Research Council funds research projects of junior researchers who want to establish themselves as independent researchers within natural and engineering sciences. The applicant for a research project grant must be an individual researcher. The applicant must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. Indian National Academy of Sciences — JRD-Tata Fellowships for Visiting Scientists from Developing Countries

India’s National Science Academy administers the JRD-Tata Fellowships to support visiting scientists from the developing world and promote South-South cooperation. The program is open to applicants from developing countries (except India) younger than age 45, and who possess doctorate or masters degrees in science or equivalent degrees in engineering/medicine. Past participants have included several in agriculture, biological sciences, and geo-sciences. The fellowship is for three months and includes transportation, maintenance allowance, accommodation, and contingencies. The application deadlines are 30 April and 31 October of each year. Asian Development Bank — Pacific Development Research Partnership

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) supports research proposals from early-career economists to conduct microeconomic development research in the Pacific. This call for proposals is limited to economists whose research focus is on the microeconomics of development, who are experienced in using micro-econometric methods, and who are experienced in using microdata. MCW Global — Young Leaders Access Program

MCW Global seeks to help communities around the world achieve greater levels of education, improved health, and increased economic security. The Young Leaders Access Program (YLP) is a year-long program that prepares young people (18 to 26) to become leaders of change in their communities. The program offers virtual training modules, Zoom discussions, and virtual one-on-one learning between mentors and mentees. World Academy of Sciences — TWAS-CUI Fellowship Program for Postgraduate Research

The TWAS-CUI Fellowship Program for Postgraduate Research offers fellowships to young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) who wish to obtain their PhD in natural sciences. Fellowships are tenable in the departments and laboratories of the campuses of the COMSATS University Islamabad (Pakistan). Duration is from six months to a maximum of 3 years (18 months for a sandwich program). CUI will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs. Earth Journalism Network — Conservation and Wildlife in East Africa Story Grants

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in East Africa to support the production of in-depth stories on conservation and wildlife issues. EJN expects to award 10 grants, with an average budget of US$800 each.
