American Museum of Natural History — Research Grants 2022

The American Museum of Natural History sponsors a number of research grants and student exchange fellowships. The Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Grants support early-career researchers for research in any phase of wildlife conservation or related fields of North American fauna, defined as fauna north of the Isthmus of Panama, including the Caribbean. Eleven Eleven Twelve Foundation — Africa Green Grant Award

Eleven Eleven Twelve Foundation announces the Africa Green Grant Award. The Award gives grants to African entrepreneurs in the environmental and agricultural sectors. The financial support scheme is open to Africans, both individuals and institutions/organizations, whose project impacts local communities and solves environmental problems. Society of Wetland Scientists — Student Research Grants

The Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) offers partial funding of wetland-related research conducted by undergraduate and graduate students worldwide. A total of up to US$1 thousand can be requested to aid student’s costs of travel, room and board in the course of field investigation and to help cover costs of expendable materials and supplies required in the execution of the proposed research. The applicant must currently be enrolled in a Ms or PhD program related to wetland science (e.g. biology, environmental science, environmental engineering, etc.) and be a member of SWS. Society of American Foresters — Scholarship SAF National Convention

The Gregory Award gives students or early-career professionals from developing countries the opportunity to attend the annual Society of American Foresters (SAF) National Convention. The award offers one individual complimentary registration and US$3 thousand to cover travel costs. Applicants must demonstrate past performance and contribute to their home or host country’s forestry education, government, or industry. Applications have to be completed by 15 March 2022. Thought for Food — Ambassador Program 2022

The TFF Community seeks passionate young leaders from all over the world for the TFF Ambassador Program. TFF Ambassadors are groups of volunteers worldwide who commit to spread TFF’s mission on a local level around the world. Ambassadors will have the chance to host meetups and events focused on raising awareness about food and agriculture, play a role in building essential regional, national, and international partnerships, and gain access to resources, training, and tools for capacity building. U.S. Department of State — Summit for Young Leaders in Southeast Asia

The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders from ASEAN countries. The YSEALI Summit 2022 is an assembly of Southeast Asian youths to bring forth science, solutions, and solidarity for a livable future. The Summit “Empowering Technology for a Greener Future” invites YSEALI alumni to join online pre-Summit activities, 3-day workshops, and post-Summit engagements. Five teams will win US$2 thousand each in seed funds. Applicants must be between 18-35 years and citizens of Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, or Timor-Leste. University of California at Berkeley — Food and Farming Journalism Fellowship

The UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism offers ten US$10 thousand postgraduate Food and Farming Journalism Fellowships. The fellowship is aimed at early and mid-career journalists who cover print and audio stories under the rubric of food systems: agricultural policy, food science, rural and urban farming, agriculture and the environment, food and climate change, etc. Preference is given to U.S. focused stories, but UC Berkeley will also consider international stories with a strong U.S. angle or connection. UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Program — Young Scientist Awards 2022

UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) program makes grants for conservation research through its Young Scientists Awards. The Award targets young researchers (not older than 35 years) carrying out interdisciplinary research on ecosystems, natural resources and biodiversity. Priority is given to projects carried out in the world’s biosphere reserves. Awards are up to US$5 thousand. The deadline for applications (English, French) is 14 January 2022. Credit Suisse — Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 15 (Life on Land)

The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 15 seeks ideas and innovations aimed at restoring ecosystem services and biodiversity by combating deforestation, countering desertification, and ensuring the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of terrestrial and inland freshwater ecosystems. The challenge welcomes solutions from young innovators (18-30 years old). The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12-months of mentorship from Credit Suisse. Oceans & Lakes — Scholarships MSc in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management

Oceans & Lakes is an interuniversity master program that provides students with a strong fundamental and applied knowledge in the scientific research and management of marine and lacustrine systems. Through the Flemish Inter-University Council (VLIR-UOS), scholarships are provided for this 2-year master program in “Master of Science in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management” (Oceans & Lakes). For this specific scholarship, eligibility extends to nationals from the VLIR-UOS partner countries (please refer to the call for a complete list of eligible countries).
