European Union and Republic of Turkey — Climate Change Adaptation Grant Program

The European Union and the Republic of Turkey invite concept notes for participation in the Climate Change Adaptation Grant Program (CCAGP). Projects should target the overall objective of enhancing climate change adaptation in Turkey through actions that improve resilience of communities and cities, protect natural resources and ecosystems and enhance adaptation capacity of vulnerable economic sectors. Grants requested under this call can range between €50 thousand and €450 thousand. Eligibility extends to local and international nonprofit organizations, universities, municipalities or local authorities. European Union — European Researchers’ Night

The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide public and media event for the promotion of research careers. Established researchers have the opportunity to showcase the diversity of science and to stimulate interest in research careers among young people. Legal entities, such as research organizations, companies, public authorities, schools, science museums, foundations or the media from an EU Member State or Associated Country can apply to host an event for researchers’ night. Events and actions that target climate and environmental-related challenges are especially welcome. The European Commission offers funding that covers any expenses linked to the organization of the research outreach event. The deadline for submission of applications is 12 January 2021. Lithuanian Development Cooperation — Development Cooperation Projects 2021

Lithuanian Development Cooperation makes grants to fund projects in developing partner countries. Submitted project applications must conform to the multilateral and/or bilateral strategic agreements between partner countries in Eastern Europe (detailed in the announcement), this includes environmental protection and sustainable agriculture technologies, among other thematic areas. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mountains of Central Asia (Uzbekistan)

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites applications for small grants to promote conservation of biodiversity in the Mountains of Central Asia. CEPF invites applications for small grants to promote conservation of biodiversity in Uzbekistan. The call is open to NGOs, community groups, universities, civil society organizations in Uzbekistan. European Commission — Civil Society Development through Strategic Communication in Armenia

The European Commission (EC) seeks to enhance the capacity and resilience of civil society organisations in Armenia to be effective actors that contribute to deepening democracy, citizens’ awareness and empowerment. The EC accepts proposals that focus on enhancing awareness of environmentally friendly and climate-change related topics and practices, among other strategic focus topics. Applicants may request a financial contribution of up to €2 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in Armenia or the European Union. EPIC-N — Workshop: Increasing Climate-Resilience and Sustainability

EPIC-N, in partnership with the UN Environment’s Global Adaptation Network and START, offer a learning workshop on increasing climate-resilience and sustainability in Asian countries. The workshop aims to strengthen capacities for adaptation and resilience by forming key partnerships between city officials and local universities. The learning process requires pairs of candidates (at least one person from a local university and at least one person from a local municipal/city government within the same area). East-West Center — Asian Development Bank: Japan Scholarship Program

The Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) provides support for Master’s degree study in Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Oceanography, and Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences (among other fields of study) at the University of Hawai‘i. The scholarship program is intended for students from developing member countries of the Asian Development Bank. After completing their studies, scholars are expected to return to their home countries to share their new knowledge to promote socio-economic development. U.S. Embassy Turkmenistan — Exchange Program for Biotechnology Experts

The U.S. Embassy announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to organize an exchange visit for 5 biotechnology experts from Turkmenistan to the United States for two to three weeks. The Turkmen experts will study the experience of US scientific and educational institutions in developing and applying biotechnologies and then adapt the new biotechnologies to Turkmenistan’s conditions. Awards may range from US$35 thousand to US$55 thousand. Eligibility extends to U.S. non-profit organizations and US educational institutions. Applications are due 21 August 2020. Link

U.S. Mission to Tajikistan — Environmental Awareness in Tajikistan

The U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe announces funding for its Environmental Awareness and Action Campaign. The Embassy seeks grant proposals from Tajik non-governmental organizations and independent media organizations that focus on raising public awareness about air pollution, water pollution, or waste management in Tajikistan. Projects should be for a period of 9-12 months and have a budget of US$5 thousand to US$25 thousand. Proposals must be submitted by 14 August 2020. Details here

The European Commission (EC) seeks to promote female entrepreneurship in agricultural value chains, by supporting Afghan women in developing and executing their business ideas, and women-led micro and small enterprises. The EC will financially support projects that strengthen the capacity of Afghan women to develop and execute their business ideas and foster respect for women’s role as economic agents. Applicants may request up to €5 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in the European Union or Afghanistan.
