Forest and Farm Facility — Call for Proposals 2019
The Forest and Farm Facility together with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and AgriCord launched the call for proposals to support regional and global forest and farm producer organizations to enable climate resilient landscapes and improved livelihoods. There will be one grant for a regional organization based in Africa, one in Asia and one in Latin America. In addition, and also one grant for an international association representing indigenous peoples. The grants will be up to US$75 thousand for one year. The deadline for applications is 01 June 2019. University College London — Research Grant Awards
UCL supports interdisciplinary research on themes relating to one or more of the Nahrein Network’s five aims through the Research Grant Awards program. Overarching aims of the program are related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (water and land). Two types of funding are offered: small grants (up to £30 thousand) for projects led by Iraqi researchers, or collaborations between Iraqi and UK researchers; and large grants (up to £100 thousand) for collaborations between Iraqi, Lebanese or Turkish and UK researchers. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Eurasia and Central Asia
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in any one of the following countries: Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkmenistan. The priorities under this call include one on environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is expected to be in the range of C$15 thousand to C$30 thousand per project. Larger projects may be considered on an exceptional basis. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization — Fellowship Program in Archeology and Conservation
UNESCO/Poland invites applications to the Co-Sponsored Fellowship Program in Archeology and Conservation. The program will award five fellowships of eight months duration each. Travel and insurance will be covered by UNESCO. Fellows will receive a monthly allowance of PLN 1600. Candidates should have a Bachelor or Master degree in Archaeology or Conservation and be no more than 40 years old. Candidatures should be submitted by the invited Member States: Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Turkey. United States Government — ASEAN Science Prize for Women
The 2019 ASEAN-U.S. Science Prize for Women seeks to identify and recognize ASEAN-based, early to mid-career women who are using applied sciences in the theme of the “Circular Economy”. The top two finalists will be invited to compete in a pitch competition during an ASEAN Ministerial event in Singapore in October 2019. The overall winner will receive $20 thousand. U.S. Department of State — Building Cooperation to Combat Wildlife Trafficking Between Africa and Asia
The U.S. Department of State seeks proposals to improve cooperation between governments in Africa and Asia to combat wildlife trafficking and implement joint action to dismantle the transnational networks that perpetrate these crimes. The project budget must fall between US$500 thousand and US$950 thousand. Eligible organizations include U.S. and overseas based non-profit organizations (NGOs) or educational institutions. The Foundation’s Sustainable Development program focuses on climate change, rapid loss of biodiversity, and accelerating degradation of Earth’s life support systems. Geographical focus is mainly on the United States, in addition to two “pivotal place” programs in China and the Western Balkans. Grant recipients are a mix of local and international organizations. Belmont Forum — Climate, Environment and Health
The Belmont Forum, in collaboration with Future Earth, invites proposals for research projects. Research consortia should make use of transdisciplinary approaches to investigate and fill knowledge gaps for a better understanding of links between climate change, environment, and health impacts. Research consortia must include at least three participating partner organizations established in three different countries. Participating organizations under this call are established in the following countries: China, Côte d’Ivoire, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Turkey, UK, and USA. European Marine Research Network — Call for Workshops and Working Groups
EuroMarine announces funding to support workshops, working groups, and training and capacity building in themes of marine conservation and management. Workshop activities receive up to €7,500; working groups addressing strategic services or issues receive up to €5,000. Proposals should engage at least three EuroMarine full member organizations in two or more countries.
