The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) invites applications from former RUFORUM-Carnegie supported doctoral alumni for a 2 year post-doctoral fellowships to be based at a university in Africa. The French Institute for Development Research (IRD) calls for projects for the creation of international mixed laboratories (LMI) with the aim to strengthen the international influence of higher education and research centers in developing countries. European Space Agency — Living Planet Fellowship 2018
The European Space Agency (ESA) invites young researchers to submit research proposals for the Living Planet Fellowship 2018. Eligible research areas are (1) Advancing Novel Methods and Techniques; and (2) Advancing Earth System Science. ESA will support up to 10 Post-Doctoral researchers to carry out a research project at a Host Institution in an eligible ESA Member State. European Commission — Improved Regional Fisheries Governance in West Africa
The European Commission calls for projects that increase the sustainability of the use of marine resources in West Africa by enhancing scientific knowledge, and supporting the development and implementation of effective management/conservation measures. Eligibility extends to individuals working for a scientific institute, a West African or International NGO, or an international organisation. Grants are between €1 million and €1.5 million. Israeli Agency for International Development — Course: Clean Technologies for Economic Development
Israel’s Agency for International Development (MASHAV) offers professional short courses in Israel in subject areas that include agriculture, energy, health, education, and social development. MASHAV offers a limited number of scholarships to cover course fees, accommodation, medical insurance, and other expenses in Israel. The international course on “Clean Technologies – Environmental technology, innovation and management systems as a means for regional and local economic development” will focus on products, services, and processes that harness renewable materials and energy sources, dramatically reduce the use of natural resources, and cut or eliminate emissions and wastes. The course is geared towards decision makers, policy makers and professionals from the fields of energy, water, waste, agriculture, climate change, infrastructure and economic development. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency — Grants to U.S. Universities for Research on Global Sustainability 2018
The EPA’s 15th annual P3 Awards (People, Prosperity, and the Planet) will fund research projects in air quality, safe and sustainable water resources, sustainable and healthy communities, and chemical safety. Grants are up to US$15 thousand for one year (Phase I). Winners in Phase I will be eligible to apply for up to $75 thousand for two years (Phase II). Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade — Water for Women (WASH) Research Awards
The Water for Women Fund aims to improve health, gender equality, and well-being of Asian and Pacific communities. Research organisations are invited to submit proposals for the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Research Awards. Applications must be submitted by research organisations or institutions (individual researchers are not eligible). The Funding Round is open to Australian and international non-profit institutions or organisations. Applicants may request between AU$100 thousand and AU$400 thousand per year for up to three years. The program “Wildlife Without Borders” includes a regional component for Central Africa. Funding in 2018 will focus on projects that impact wildlife populations in the following countries: Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and São Tomé and Príncipe.
