The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified entities to implement THRIVE-Water, Sanitation and Hygiene activity in Rwanda. The overall goal is to improve the utilization of safe drinking water and sanitation services. The total funding amount is US$21 million. Eligibility is unrestricted. People and Conservation Learning Group — Small Grants for Great Ape Conservation

The People and Conservation Learning Group (PCLG) supports collaboration and learning between conservation, development and rights focused organizations in three great ape range states. PCLG will fund activities that respond to COVID-19 and the challenges this disease is creating in great ape range states for conservation and development. Small grants are available to community-based nonprofit organizations and enterprises in Cameroon, DR Congo and Uganda. Grants range from US$500 to US$5.000. The Arctic Cooperation Program aims to create sustainable and constructive development in the Arctic. The Nordic Council of Ministers will financially contribute to several sustainable development projects in the Arctic region. As a general rule, three Nordic countries must be involved in a co-operation project. A partnership can be supplemented with one or more other Arctic states (USA, Canada and Russia), but the lead applicant has to be from a Nordic country. German Academic Exchange Service — Climate Research Fellowship

ClimapAfrica supports research on climate change and possible solutions. African PhD students are invited to submit postdoctoral climate research projects to one of the following research areas: Agriculture, Climate Science, Veterinary Medicine, Biodiversity, Food Security, Marine Science, Energy, Water Resources, and Forest Sustainability, among others. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) awards fellowships of max. €10 thousand, plus a monthly allowance to cover research costs for a period of 12 to 18 months. Fellows can apply for additional funding to cover a temporary research stay in Germany (2-6 months) to work on a specific research question. The application deadline is 15 February 2021. University of St. Andrews — St. Andrews Prize for the Environment 2021

The annual St Andrews Prize for the Environment recognizes significant contributions to environmental conservation in the developing world. The subject areas include human-animal conflicts; water and biodiversity; sanitation; air quality; solar power; food supply; waste and recycling; environmental justice; and others. Applications are invited from individuals, multi-disciplinary teams, and community groups. Research projects will not be considered. The Prize consists of an award of US$100 thousand and a medal. The U.S. Department of State announces funding for projects that further the U.S. Mission’s public diplomacy goals in Vietnam, including improved environmental sustainability, climate mitigation and adaptation. Grants will be below US$25 thousand. Proposals over US$25 thousand will be considered only with a cost share and on a case-by-case basis. Wallonie Bruxelles International (WBI) offers postdoctoral scholarships through the Excellence Scholarship Program. Focus areas include life sciences, agriculture-industry, environmental technologies, and others. Applications are open to candidates of any nationality that hold a doctor higher education diploma.
