Climate Tracker — Climate Journalism Mentorship Program

Climate Tracker invited applications for the Climate Journalism Mentoring Program, exclusive to Latin America. Journalists from Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil. will publish stories on the impact of the climate crisis in the region, with a focus on the transition to fair energy. University of Edinburgh — Distance Learning Masters Scholarships

The University of Edinburgh offers Masters scholarships for distance learning Masters programs offered by the University. Thematic areas include agriculture, veterinary medicine, and engineering, among others. Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees for three years. U.S. Department of State — Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowships 2025-2026

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program supports non-degree academic study and related professional experiences in the U.S. for experienced professionals from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Fellows are hosted at universities in the USA. Program fields include agriculture and rural development; natural resources, environmental policy, climate change; and many others. World Academy of Sciences — PhD in Chemical and Biological Sciences

The International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) offers postdoctoral fellowships to young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) who wish to pursue postdoctoral research in organic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine, pharmacology or physical chemistry. The duration of the fellowships is six to twelve months. Subject areas range across the physical and natural sciences, including agricultural sciences. World Academy of Sciences — TWAS-LUMS Postgraduate Fellowship

The Lahore University of Management Sciences and TWAS offer fellowships to young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) who wish to pursue research towards a PhD in Natural Sciences and Engineering. The Fellowship may be granted for a maximum period of five years. LUMS will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs, such as food, accommodation, and local transportation. Applicants should be a maximum age of 35 years and hold a Master’s degree in a field of natural sciences. The deadline for receipt of applications is 11 October 2024. TWAS-LUMS

Climate Tracker — Caribbean Climate Justice Journalism Fellowship

Climate Tracker selects fellows for a 5 months training experience with a range of environmental, storytelling, and journalism experts. Participants will get the chance to put what they’ve learned into practice, by engaging in new media journalism, through podcasts, social media storytelling, and newsletters. Fellows receive a monthly stipend of US$200 to publish climate stories. Eligibility extends to Caribbean journalists interested in covering climate justice. The deadline to apply is 22 April 2024. Australian Government — ASEAN Scholarships

The Australian Government offers scholarships to pursue a master’s degree to leaders from ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste. ASEAN scholarships are offered for the minimum period necessary for the individual to complete the academic program specified by the Australian education institution, including any preparatory training. Pulitzer Center — Ocean Reporting Network

The Pulitzer Center accepts applications for the Ocean Reporting Network (ORN). The network will establish a collaborative ecosystem of journalists around the world to uncover the harmful and illegal practices of the fishing and extractive industries, and systemic threats to marine biodiversity and coastal communities. The Pulitzer Center will cover a reporter’s salary and provide additional support for the media outlet that employs the journalist. Government of Canada — Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program provides funding to postdoctoral applicants, both nationally and internationally, who will positively contribute to Canada’s economic, social, and research-based growth. A total of 70 fellowships are awarded annually. Foreign citizens who are not permanent residents of Canada may only apply if they hold their fellowship at a Canadian institution. Applicants seek endorsement from a host institution to apply, prepare, and submit an application (Note: institutions may have internal deadlines). 776 Foundation — Tackling Climate Change

The 776 Fellowship is a two-year, full-time program. Fellows will receive a US$100 thousand grant over two years to work on projects to fight climate change instead of pursuing a university degree. Fellows must be ages 18 to 24 and can live anywhere in the world. Fellows will have access to founder networks, various programming, and access to a venture fund’s operating system.
