The Global STEM Accelerator is a program for women and girls who desire to learn more about STEM fields that men traditionally dominate. Scholarship winners will participate in 12-week all-virtual programs focusing on emerging and critical STEM skills and fields, global competence education, and social impact. Nagao Natural Environment Foundation — Nature Conservation Scholarships for Students from Asia
The NEF Scholarship Scheme financially supports university students from Southeast Asia who study nature conservation (e.g., biology, botany, forestry, etc) at selected universities and institutes in Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Furthermore, scholarship recipients can attend the NEF Student International Workshop. Participants attend lectures, present their own research, visit research facilities, and practice research skills in the field related to nature conservation. Eligibility requirements vary by country, therefore, interested applicants are required to contact the NEF local counterpart representative in their country for application guidelines. The Mastercard Foundation supports economically disadvantaged yet academically gifted youth in Africa who are committed to effecting positive change on the continent. Halcyon — EquityTech Fellowship
The EquityTech Fellowship empowers entrepreneurs leveraging technology to increase social and financial inclusion and close equity gaps in wealth, education, and accessibility. Fellows accepted into this program will receive a US$10 thousand per venture equity-free stipend to use toward travel expenses, eight-week residency at Halcyon’s facilities in Georgetown, Washington, DC, training, and pro bono legal support. UK Government — Darwin Plus for British Overseas Territories
The Darwin Initiative contributes knowledge that links biodiversity conservation and poverty reduction in low and middle-income countries. Darwin Plus Fellowships aim to build capacity within the UK Overseas Territories through training opportunities. There are two different budget templates for projects requesting over and under £100 thousand. The Project Leader can be based in any country. However, all Darwin Plus projects are expected to seek in-territory partners. Projects led by in-territory partners/organizations are encouraged. PAGES runs an International Mobility Research Fellowship Program for African early-career scientists on past global changes. Women for Africa Foundation — Research Fellowships in Spain
The Women for Africa Foundation has launched the 9th Edition of its “Science by Women” program. The program aims to promote African women’s leadership in scientific research and technology transfer and to foster the capacity of the research centers in their home countries. Thematic areas include sustainable agriculture and food security, water, energy and climate change; and several others. Each Spanish Centre of Excellence will host one senior woman researcher for a six-month fellowship. Eligibility to apply extends to women who are nationals of any African country, and who have a PhD, with at least three years of postdoctoral experience. Finnish Government — Recruiting Foreign Doctoral Students
The EDUFI Fellowship provides initial funding to carry out research for a doctoral thesis in Finland. Researchers or Teachers in Finnish university departments, who wish to recruit a doctoral student or a young researcher from outside Finland, can apply on behalf of the foreign student. The fellowship grant is intended for post-graduate studies as well as research and teaching cooperation in Finnish universities and covers the living costs of the fellow.
