The Halcyon MENA Fellowship helps founders and entrepreneurs to build Health, Climate, and EquityTech solutions for impact across the Middle East and North Africa. Fellows receive expert training in Washington, DC, and critical resources to accelerate their venture. Fellows accepted into this program will receive US$5 thousand equity-free living stipend per venture. Eligibility extends to for-profit startups with scalable solutions. EUTOPIA European University — Science and Innovation Fellowships Program
The EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowship Program (EUTOPIA-SIF) aims to enhance the research potential and career perspectives of young researchers from around the world. EUTOPIA-SIF will select 16 post-doctoral fellows on the basis of an individual research project for a 24-month post-doctoral contract at one of the EUTOPIA universities. Candidates are invited to submit research projects in one of the five key research areas, including sustainability (energy, circular economy, mobility, urban planning, material heritage, water management). Climate Arena — Journalism Fellowship Europe
Climate Arena has a fellowship opportunity for those who have a cross-border and investigative climate story idea. Fellows will be invited to join the Climate Arena journalism conference in Vienna (November 2023), receiving mentoring and training right up to publication time. Acumen Fund — Regional Fellows in Malaysia
The Acumen Fund seeks to harness the power of social innovation to create solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. The Fund administers regional programs in different world regions. In each region, 20 fellows are selected for a leadership development program of five one-week seminars while remaining in their jobs. Acumen covers all program expenses related to travel and accommodations, but it does not offer scholarships, stipends, or other funding. Past fellows have included several in smallholder agriculture, renewable energy, waste management, fair trade, and other subject areas. Atlas Corps — Fellowship Program for NGO Leaders
Atlas Corps seeks NGO leaders from around the world to apply for a 12-18 month fellowship program. Fellows serve at Host Organizations working on issues that complement their expertise (including: conservation, wildlife, sustainable development, and many others). Applicants must be aged 22-35 and must have 2-10 years of relevant experience in the nonprofit/social sector. The fellowship provides a small living stipend to cover basic expenses (food, local transportation, and shared housing), international flight, and health insurance. Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education — Orange Knowledge Program
The Orange Knowledge Program (OKP) makes scholarships to mid-career professionals from selected developing countries for short courses (duration 2 weeks to 12 months) and master’s programs (duration 12-24 months). Eligible countries as well as eligible courses are listed in the announcement. Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education — MENA Scholarships
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Scholarship Program offers scholarships to professionals from ten MENA countries for short courses of two to twelve weeks in the Netherlands. Subject areas include agriculture, environment, and many others. NUFFIC supports professionals up to age 45 who are nationals of and working in one of the following countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, and Tunisia. (Note: MSP is not currently open to professionals applying from Sudan.) The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) supports scientific research in all academic disciplines. SNSF Consolidator Grants 2023 are aimed at researchers (based in Switzerland or abroad) who plan to apply for an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2023. Successful applicants will be able to conduct research in Switzerland and consolidate their scientific independence. The scheme is open to all fields of research and researchers of any nationality. Applicants can request a budget of up to CHF 1.75 million for a maximum of 5 years. Additional funding of up to CHF 870 thousand may be requested for specific costs. The Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB) in Germany invites scientists from all countries and at different career stages to apply for a research visit. The program offers fellowships for PhD students, postdocs, and senior scientists for up to 24 months. The position is intended as an opportunity to join IGB to develop and implement original research ideas in ecology, evolutionary biology, microbiology, Ecohydrology, chemistry, behavioral ecology, genomics, inland fisheries and aquaculture. The University of the Sunshine Coast offers five PhD scholarships for projects related to restoration of degraded tropical forest landscapes.
