Earth Journalism Network — Virtual Training for Journalists Reporting

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers a four-day virtual workshop aimed at business and finance journalists from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and Thailand to strengthen their climate-focused reporting on corporate accountability, green finance, and sustainable solutions. The training covers net-zero strategies, greenwashing detection, inclusive transitions, and more, and includes an opportunity to apply for a story grant post-workshop. It’s open to journalists working in any medium (print, online, TV, radio), with preference given to women, rural, Indigenous, early- and mid-career professionals. One World Media — Climate Reporting Gap Fellowship

The Climate Reporting Gap Fellowship awards six Nigerian journalists or filmmakers with £3,000–£5,000 grants, complemented by one-on-one mentoring, in-depth in-person and online workshops, a reporting trip to Colombia, and global promotion via partner networks. The fellowship is aimed at mid-career professionals with 3–5 years of experience, the fellowship supports data-driven, community‑centric coverage of climate finance, energy transitions, resource governance, and environmental resilience in Nigeria and the region. World Bank Group — Africa Fellowship Program 2026

The Africa Region of the World Bank Group seeks applications for the 2026 WBG-Africa Fellowship Program for Ph.D. Students and recent Ph.D. graduates who are Sub-Saharan nationals. Fellows will spend at least six months at the World Bank offices in Washington, D.C., or in a Sub-Saharan country, getting hands-on experience in development work. While benefiting from research and innovation in multiple sectors, fellows will also work on economic policy, technical assistance, and lending to eliminate poverty and increase shared prosperity. Fellows will receive consultant fees, economy-class air travel, and worker’s compensation insurance. The program invites applications from recent Ph.D. graduates, or current doctoral students, in disciplinary fields that include agriculture, energy, and others. Columbia Climate School — Postdoctoral Research Program

The Columbia Climate School invites applications for the Postdoctoral Research Program. Climate School Postdocs will receive an annual salary of US$71,640. They are also awarded a research stipend of US$12 thousand over the two-year term for reimbursable expenses related to the appointment. The program is open to U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. Nagao Natural Environment Foundation — Nature Conservation Scholarships for Students from Asia

The NEF Scholarship Scheme financially supports university students from Southeast Asia who study nature conservation (e.g., biology, botany, forestry, etc) at selected universities and institutes in Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Furthermore, scholarship recipients can attend the NEF Student International Workshop. Participants attend lectures, present their own research, visit research facilities, and practice research skills in the field related to nature conservation. Eligibility requirements vary by country, therefore, interested applicants are required to contact the NEF local counterpart representative in their country for application guidelines. London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine — Planetary Health Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Planetary Health Postdoctoral Fellowship is aimed at early-career researchers focused on the intersection of human health and environmental change. The fellowship supports solutions-oriented research addressing critical issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and sustainable food systems. The fellowship is fully funded for two years, with a competitive salary and research support. The fellowship is open globally to researchers within three years of completing their PhD, with experience in planetary health-related disciplines (e.g., epidemiology, environmental science, health policy). The MASS Design Group African Design Centre (ADC) Fellowship supports emerging African designers and architects in transforming project insights into real-world social impact. The fellowship provides mentorship, training, and resources to catalyze innovation rooted in local contexts and community needs. Open to early-career professionals leading design-driven projects across Africa, fellows engage in capacity building and collaborative learning to scale sustainable architectural solutions. Irish Aid — Ireland Fellows Programme 2026/27

Irish Aid offers scholarships to qualified candidates from Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to undertake Master’s degrees at universities and colleges in Ireland. Awards are made in the fields of development studies, rural development, biodiversity conservation, and many other subject areas relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory. Climate Tracker — Climate Journalism Mentorship Program

The Climate Journalism Mentorship Program supports emerging journalists in Latin America to report on the energy transition and climate issues. Participants will receive editorial mentorship, training, and financial support to produce three in-depth stories. Journalists, journalism students, and communicators residing in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, or the Dominican Republic are eligible to apply.
