The East-West Center welcomes applications for the Pacific Islands Leadership Program with Taiwan to enhance the leadership capacities of young leaders in the Pacific Islands. Participants will spend approximately two months at the East-West Center’s campus in Hawaii, in addition to a month in Taipei at the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs. The curriculum includes topics in climate change and environmental stewardship, among others. Eligibility extends to early and mid-careers professionals in the Cook Islands, Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime — Resilience Fellowship Environmental Crime
The Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC) announces the Resilience Fellowship, which for 2022 will have Environmental Crime as its theme. The Resilience Fund provides grants and support to civil society individuals and organizations working to counter the impacts of criminal governance and violence across the world. Grants of US$15 thousand per Fellow will be awarded for one year. For the year 2022, a total of 10 Fellows will be selected. The Fellowship welcomes applications from people of any gender, ethnicity, age, religion or any other defining factor, who work in communities affected by organized environmental crime. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) seeks African researchers for a new postdoc program in application-oriented research on climate change. Sustainable Mekong Research Network — Fellowships for Early-Career Researchers
The Sustainable Mekong Research Network (SUMERNET) fellowships are intended for young and early-career (not older than 35 years) Mekong Region citizens with researcher and/or practitioner backgrounds from the countries of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. Young Water Solutions — Young Water Fellowship Program: Bangladesh
Young Water Solutions supports young entrepreneurs to launch their water and sanitation related social businesses. The Young Water Fellowship provides training, seed-funding and mentorship. The bootcamp aims to empower its participants to implement projects addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), water pollution, and water scarcity. After the bootcamps Fellows can apply for a funding of up to €5 thousand to pilot their business models over 6 months. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 to 30 years old, have at least an intermediate knowledge of English, intend to stay in Bangladesh for at least 1.5 years after the training and spend at least 15 hours per week to work on their social business. Aspen Institute — New Voices Fellowship 2022
The New Voices Fellowship is a year-long program that provides intensive media and advocacy training for top development professionals in the developing world. The Aspen Institute aims to select 15-20 Fellows who will write opinion articles, participate in interviews with local and international media, and speak at international conferences. Subject areas of interest include food security, climate change, and other themes. For the 2022 class, Aspen will give special consideration to Fellows whose work focuses on COVID-19 relief, vaccine development, and pandemic resiliency. The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship seeks proposals from researchers with experience in the fields of social sciences and humanities but with interest in interfacing with earth system science. The aim is to overcome the disciplinary boundaries between earth science, and in particular climate science, and social/human sciences. European Fellowships support experienced researchers for a full time period between 12 and 24 months.
