AAUW — International Fellowships 2019

AAUW’s International Fellowship program provides support for women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States. (Note: Fields of study may include one or more categories of the Terra Viva Grants Directory as long as they focus on the advancement of women and girls’ rights.) Award amounts range from US$ 18-30 thousand for one year of study. To be eligible for an International Fellowship, applicants must have citizenship in a country other than the U.S. and intend to return to her home country to pursue a professional career. World Academy of Sciences — Postgraduate Fellowships in Natural Sciences in Pakistan

The TWAS-CIIT Fellowship Programme offers fellowships to young scientists from developing countries who wish to obtain all or part of their PhD in natural sciences. CIIT will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs such as food, accommodation, and health insurance. Applicants should not be older than 35 years and hold an MSc degree in a field of natural sciences. The deadline for applications is 31 August 2018. Link

World Academy of Sciences — Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Brazil

In partnership with the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Brazil’s National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) invites young scientists from developing countries other than Brazil to pursue postdoctoral research in natural sciences at selected Brazilian research institutions for periods of 6-12 months. Subject areas include agricultural sciences, biological sciences, and many others. CNPq will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs such as accommodation, food, and health insurance. The application deadline is 14 September 2018. Link

ASEAN Foundation — Post-graduate Scholarship Programme in Science and Technology

The Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) and the ASEAN Foundation (AF) seek applications for their joint Post-graduate Scholarship Programme in Science and Technology. This year, eight scholarships are available for ASEAN nationals who are interested to pursue a Master Degree in the fields of Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Environmental Sciences, and other fields at the CGI. The scholarship will cover tuition, airfare, allowances, accommodation, and monthly stipend. Applications are due on 30 November 2018. More information

Government of Czech Republic — University Scholarships for Applicants from Developing Countries

The Czech Republic provides scholarships to support nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic. The fields of study include ecology, wildlife management, natural resources, forestry, and tropical agriculture (among others). Applications need to be submitted before 30 September of each year. Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Bhaskara Advanced Solar Energy Fellowships and Internships 2018

The IUSSTF invites Indian applicants to apply for the Bhaskara fellowships and student internships for research on solar energy at reputed scientific/technological institutions in the USA. Preference will be given to research aimed at issues of solar energy in India. Eligibility extends to Indian PhD students and researchers in publicly-funded R&D laboratories, S&T institutions (non-private), and recognized academic institutes in India. Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey — Research Fellowships 2018

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) awards research fellowships to international highly qualified PhD students and young postdoctoral researchers. Applicants should be non-Turkish citizens who are age 35 or younger. Preference is for candidates who have the potential to contribute to Turkey’s international cooperation in scientific and technological development. The fields of research collaboration include agricultural sciences, among others. The maximum length of the fellowship is 12 months. British Council — Newton-Mosharafa Science Innovation

The Newton-Mosharafa Fund supports British and Egyptian scientific researchers and innovators to find joint solutions to the challenges facing Egypt in economic development and social welfare through training and researcher mobility schemes. The five focus areas of the currently open call include sustainable water management, renewable energy, and sustainable food production; among two others. The PhD Programme supports Egyptian researchers to do their PhD at UK Higher Education institutions. The call is open until 26 July 2018. Find details here

U.S. Department of State — Air Quality Capacity Building Fellowship

The Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs (OES) seeks international partnerships to implement the “U.S. Air Quality Capacity Building Fellowship” project, an international exchange program of American air quality experts with governments in targeted, highly-polluted countries. Selected organizations will manage the operations of the fellowship program, including the recruitment of Fellows, placement in host country governments as well as travel, and administrative support. Eligible countries under this award include: Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Philippines, South Africa, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uganda, and Vietnam. Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development — Media Fellowship Programme

APWLD invites female media professionals across Asia-Pacific region to participate in the inaugural media fellowship programme that aims to strengthen media advocacy on grassroots issues. The fellowship theme for this year is Climate Change. Proposed projects should focus on the feminist perspective of climate justice. Selected journalists will be given a stipend of US$1,000 to cover expenses for research and travel. Projects have to be submitted by 30 June 2018. Find details
