Youngo offers complete financial support and capacity building training to participate at UN Climate Change Conference and 13th Conference Of Youth (COY13) in November, 2017 in Bonn, Germany. Young people around the world can actively engage in the effort to address climate change. The program shall cover all costs of travel, accommodation, visa, travel insurance fee, food, local transport and other costs for the selected applicants. Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum — Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships
The Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships fund Indian participants to gain exposure and access to research facilities in water resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. Fellowships of three to twelve months are for Indian scientists holding a PhD in water science and engineering. Internships of three to six months are for individuals currently engaged in their PhD studies in water sciences in India. The application deadline is 31 August 2017. Link
Government of Czech Republic — University Scholarships for Applicants from Developing Countries
The Czech Republic provides scholarships to support nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic. The fields of study include ecology, wildlife management, natural resources, forestry, and tropical agriculture (among others). Applications need to be submitted before 30 September of each year. Kenya Community Development Foundation — Wangari Maathai Scholarship Fund for Kenyan Women
The Wangari Maathai Scholarhip is co-sponsored by the Kenya Community Development Foundation, the Greenbelt Movement, and the Rockefeller Foundation to support young Kenyan women (ages 18 – 25) for university studies in environmental conservation. One individual is chosen each year. The selected individual must demonstrate an ability to successfully mobilize people and provide leadership in environmental advocacy. Orskov Foundation — Grants in Sustainable Land Use for University Students
Orskov makes grants to support student projects in agriculture and sustainable land use in developing countries. Preference will be given to training that emphasizes animal, plant, and soil interactions. Projects should have the potential to alleviate poverty and to provide sustainable environmental benefits, including adaptation/mitigation to the impacts of climate change. Applications are invited from individuals in lower-income and lower middle-income countries. The program includes student grants up to £2,500 to support studies at a university or similar organization other than the university/college in which the applicant is registered. Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership — Abe Fellowships 2017
The Abe Fellowship encourages international research in the social sciences and related disciplines on topics of pressing global concern — including climate change, sustainable urbanization, environmental degradation, and other cross-cutting issues that advance global problem solving from a transnational perspective. The fellowship program is open to citizens of Japan and the USA, as well as to nationals of other countries who can demonstrate serious long-term affiliations with research communities in Japan or the USA. International Livestock Research Institute — Africa Biosciences Challenge Fund 2017-2018
The Biosciences eastern and central Africa (BecA) Hub awards research fellowships to African agricultural researchers for short-term projects at the BecA-ILRI Hub in Nairobi. The announcement identifies the priority research themes. Candidates should be currently engaged in agricultural research and be affiliated with a national agricultural research system in the eligible countries: Burundi, Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Congo Brazzaville, Dem Rep Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Kenya, Madagascar, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Center for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries — Tropical Coastal Marine Research
The Center for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Center) will fund up to five fellowships for researchers from developing countries to work with senior researchers and faculty members at the Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Ecology (ZMT) in Germany. The Arab Council for the Social Sciences announces its fourth cycle of postdoctoral fellowships for junior Arab scholars. The program is open to individuals who completed their PhD within the past three years, and who are nationals or residents of countries in the League of Arab States. The fellowship provides for full costs over nine months in the proposed country/countries of residence where the fellow will reside. The thematic focus is open.
