The Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition (CEC) invites entrepreneurs from all around the world to submit innovative answers and ideas to solve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Young entrepreneurs (age 15-35) submit their ideas and projects in the Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship category. Entrepreneurs over 30 years apply to the Adult Citizen Entrepreneurship category. World Academy of Sciences — Research Cooperation Visits Program
TWAS-SISSA-Lincei invites young scientists from least-developed countries to carry out collaborative research projects in Physics, Neuroscience, Mathematics, and Science Outreach as well as projects that fall under the umbrella of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Scientists have the opportunity to visit research laboratories in Trieste (Italy) to carry out research work in scientific fields within the SISSA portfolio. Australian Center for International Agricultural Research — Pacific Agriculture Scholarships
The Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) supports postgraduate research studies by providing scholarships in agriculture and fisheries at the University of the South Pacific and Fiji National University. Students undertake applied agricultural research at selected Pacific universities to build an agricultural innovation system and contribute to the agricultural research capacity of the student, the university, and the country of origin. Applicants must be citizens of and currently reside in Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, or Vanuatu. The closing date for submissions is 23 October 2024. Charles Hayward Foundation — Livelihoods Support in Africa
The Charles Hayward Foundation funds charitable programs and projects that improve the livelihoods of disadvantaged communities in the Commonwealth countries of Africa. The Foundation accepts applications from UK charities. Projects should focus at the grassroots level with proven local partners. Categories for support include water and sanitation; capacity building in agriculture and income-generating activities; and health. Grants are up to £15 thousand. ETH4D — Visiting Student Grant
The ETH4D Visiting Student Grant provides ETH professors funding to invite a student from a low- or middle-income country to ETH Zurich for a research stay of 3-6 months. The invited student must be registered as a Master’s (MA/MSc) student in their home institution. The grant covers the following expenses up to a maximum of CHF 16.5 thousand. Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean — Rural World in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean seeks research proposals to fund up to nine research projects that contribute to understanding the main problems faced by rural societies and productive means in the economies of Latin America and the Caribbean. Three projects will be selected from those related to poverty and inequality, three from risk and climate change and sustainable development, while the remaining three will be selected from those related to rurality. The International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) invites applications for the Youth Innovation Award. CIHEAM will reward an innovative solution (scientific or entrepreneurship product/service) that contributes to the green and blue transition to improve human well-being and social equity while reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities and contributing to zero climate impact. Irish Aid — SDG Challenge 2024
The SDG Challenge invites research teams to develop innovative solutions that contribute to SDG 2: Zero Hunger, “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture”. Eligible partner countries are Cambodia; Laos; Palestine; Vietnam; ODA-eligible countries on the African continent; and ODA-eligible Small Island Developing States. Teams will receive up to €250 thousand to develop their idea. Inter-American Foundation — Research Fellowship Program
The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) welcomes applicants for its new Research Fellowship Program to advance rigorous field-based research on actionable questions about community-led development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
