OPEC Fund for International Development — Grants

The OPEC Fund provides financial assistance to developing countries, particularly low-income countries, in support of their economic and social development efforts. OPEC will consider requests for (i) grants for country-specific activities and projects; (ii) grants for special development initiatives of global or regional scope; and (iii) emergency aid. In the past, the OPEC Fund has financed projects in agriculture, energy, health, transportation, and water and sanitation sectors. The amount of the contribution will vary according to the scope and the nature of the proposed activity. However, except for emergency aid and small grants in amounts of up to US$100 thousand, OPEC’s contribution should not exceed 50% of the total cost. Eligible partners are any government or non-government entity, including co-financing partners, private sector entities, research entities, UN agencies, and international NGOs. There is no deadline. Inter-American Foundation — Grants for NGOs in Latin America and Caribbean

The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) makes grants to non-governmental and community-based organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean to raise the living conditions of disadvantaged populations, and to advance other social goals. The Foundation’s grant-making interests include grassroots projects in agriculture; clean water and sanitation; community conservation; and local management of natural resources (forests, fisheries, etc.). Applicants may request grants in the range of US$25 thousand to US$400 thousand. Applications can be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, or Haitian Creole. Union for the Mediterranean — Project Implementation Support

The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) does not fund the implementation of the projects but it assists project development, the search for financial resources, and the search for political and technical support needed for project implementation. UfM promotes a wide range of projects in the Mediterranean region in subject areas that include energy and climate, water, environment, blue economy, and several others. Proposals are accepted continuously; there is no calendar deadline. Details

Giving Joy — Micro-Grants for Women Entrepreneurs

Giving Joy makes micro-grants to women who seek to establish or improve their businesses for the benefit of their communities. Applicants can propose activities in any field, trade, occupation, or craft (e.g., agriculture, fisheries, energy, WASH, etc.). Proposed grant activities must have a social benefit to the community. Grants range from US$250 to US$500. Grants support women entrepreneurs worldwide. Giving Joy offers different grant cycles per year. BIMP-EAGA–Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund — Balanced Growth in Southeast Asia

The BKCF invites project proposals for its 5th grant cycle, aiming to promote inclusive and balanced growth in Southeast Asia and contribute to ASEAN Connectivity. Priority sectors include environment (e.g., climate mitigation and adaptation), tourism (e.g., ecotourism), connectivity (e.g., green transport), and agriculture and fisheries (e.g., food security). Eligible applicants are government agencies, public sector institutes, academic and research institutes, NGOs, private sector entities, or other autonomous institutes from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the Republic of Korea. Individuals are not eligible. Grants range from US$100 thousand to US$500 thousand for 1-year projects and US$200 thousand to US$500 thousand for 2-year projects, with a maximum of US$250 thousand per country for multi-country projects. Clif Family Foundation — Support for Non-Profit Organizations

The Clif Family Foundation offers grants to support Organic Farming, Climate Justice and other thematic areas. The Foundation covers operating expenses or specific projects for organizations aligned with the Foundation’s strategic priorities. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations or have a fiscal sponsor with this status. Grants range from US$5,000 to US$50 thousand for a one-year period. The foundation does not fund capital projects, individuals, government agencies, or faith-based organizations. Application deadlines are 01 March and 01 August 2025. Link to the grant

Swedish Institute — Scholarships for Global Professionals

The Swedish Institute (SI) provides fully-funded international scholarships for master’s studies in Sweden. The scholarship for global professionals aims to develop future global leaders who will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and contribute to positive and sustainable development in their home countries. The scholarship is intended for full-time one-year or two-year master’s programs. SI fully covers tuition fees and makes regular payments of SEK12 thousand to cover living expenses throughout the scholarship. The application portal will close on 26 February 2025. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in The Gambia

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in The Gambia. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects). The average CFLI contribution is C$100 thousand. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions.
